2g head question

I just picked up a complete 2g head with 63K miles on it, and and was wondering if 1g & 2g valvetrain were the same?

valves, springs, locks retainers, guides are all the same on 1g and 2g 4g63 heads Turbo and non-turbo parts are the same too

2g cams are all the same...1g's have two different sets of cams for auto and manual..

Where do we get the seats?

A local machine shop or maybe NAPA. Maybe a Vendor like SIM, JAM or JNZ can hook you up with them.
I buy mine in bulk from a shop supplier.

Seat part numbers for a 4G63
Intake 1437-68
Exhaust 1312-64

I've bought them from rockauto.com. What happened to this head that requires it to need new seats? Hard to imagine that it needs all new seats.

Just have the existing seats re-cut and they will be as good as new.

Replacing seats when not needed is like having brain surgery for a common headache.

If the shop is not used to instaling seats in alum heads, or they have old dull valve seat insert cutters, you run a great risk of having the seats fall out.
