When installing a 2g head on a 6 bolt do you order a 1g head gasket or a 2g or does it matter?

Correct, they are the same. Just make sure you use the 2g intake manifold with the 2g head.

Yes i did all that and i used a 1g intake mainfold. I port matched the manifold and head to match. Worked out good.

did you used air to oil cooler or water to oil cooler? i ask because i just put a 2g head on my 6 bolt and i have no more water lines to run to the oil cooler ! im confused and dont want to just leave no water lines to the oil filter

Was anything else altered and the reason I ask is you still use the 2gt water pipe which has the nipples for the oil cooler on it.

As stated before you will need a 2g intake manifold or you can use an RVR or Evo 3 intake manifold.

do NOT port the intake ports of the 2g head. Otherwise you completely defeat the point of using a 2g head.

Also and Vette stated above, you will need to drill out the head studs to 1/2" to accomodate for the bigger 6 bolt studs as well as do the oil port mod.

yea i have 1 nipple on the water pipe with a small hose that goes directly into the OFH and i have a long skinny pipe (i think the return) that should go somewhere near the tstat but there arent any ports open for use?

Make a T into one of the lines then. You'll be able to facilitate the "water cooling" effect then.

I second that...

what i just ended up doing is pluging the throttle body water lines and instead of running it to TB ran it to OFH

i got it for CHEAP so i had to buy it LOL its got some work done to it so it was better then my stock 6 bolt

my friend said he has a block off plate but it deletes the ISC. i think that would be a bad idea id rather keep everything and just delete the lines. any thoughts?

Yeah, read the article I made and posted above. I didn't post it for my own entertainment.

you posted for my entertainment and i read it. no one has posted on the thread i have, no idea the pros and cons and how people like it

If you read it then you would understand it only slightly affects idle until yiunreach a certain temperature. If you remove the coolant lines from the TB then you have to block off the FIAV.

If you don't want to do something right then don't do it at all and put the coolant lines back on. People don't have to post their experience with the block off as it's been done for many many years and there are mire threads dealing with the subject.

I personally have it done and idle 100% fine.

Wouldn't run an ISC even if i didn't have a block off plate. That thing goes so does your ECU. At least on a 1g it does.

I think he is.

He's been a very helpful member to this community. I just used one of his write ups the other day for something I was working on. Nice to have people like him willing to give there time to help even when others don't appreciate it.
