I have a 96 gst and i want to put my 96 head on a 6bolt block.. I read other threads and all the ones talks about useing a 97 and up head becaues its talks about swithing to a 6bolt C.A.S. The 96 head does not use the same C.A.S set up. My question is what do i have to do to use a "96" head on a 6 bolt block..??
tks...

We didnt have to do any modification to the head at all when we put a '95 7bolt head on my friends 6bolt. and some say that if you wire both the 1g cas and the early 2g cas up that it helps with the random misfire that comes with doing a 6bolt swap. so keep the '96 head that you are planning on using.

I've put many 2g heads on 6-bolts. You must run a 1/2" drill through the bolt holes, or the head, and turbo will be under oiled. If you try to put a 2g head on a 6-bolt with studs, it wont go on unless you do this. You probably could get it to go on with bolts unmodified, but it will be under oiled.
