I am in the middle of a 6 bolt swap on my 2g. I will be using my 2g head since i got it built few months ago.

My question is, is it absolutely necessary to do the oil port mod on the 2g head?

Or will i be "fine" without it. I am on a 20g turbo right now.

You are ok to not do it, but it's highly suggest for good reasons.

The head bolt holes need to be reamed out from the 12mm 2g size to the 13mm 1g size.

I would still reccomend doing Oil port mod 1 at the same time, but that is dependent on how thin the head is.

By what I have measured the oil trough should be appox .120 deep including the HG thickness
