First of all, don't even post if you are just going to put down ebay products. Yes, some are good and some are bad. Thats why I am trying to figure out if these are a good items or not. I am a college student and I am on a tight budget. I don't have $2,000 sitting around for k-sports.

Hey guys. I know there are numerous threads on here about ebay coilovers, but these ones just recently came out in the past few months. They are full adjustable coilovers and are going for $450 shipped. I was thinking about getting Yonakas, but these are $150 cheaper and match my engine bay and rim color scheme. Has anyone used these yet? I am still waiting for a reply back from the seller about warranty information.

I am sure they will work for whatever you want to use them for but buying coilovers because the match your rim/engine bay scheme? As with all things eBay you get what you pay for. They may perform alright for everyday driving and occasional track use, but if you are looking for something that will perform day in and day out consistantly I would stay away from these. And all these different company's on eBay selling coilovers, usually are all getting them from one place. Just different colors and external designs. But inside they are still the same crappy valve design as a stock strut.

damn if i had 450 kicking around i would be all over those. give it a shot let us know, that would be great if they had some for a 1g i would find 450 for them

There not worth it:notgood:. I bought them from a company name godspeed (same setup) the whole strut setup is shorter then the stock struts and makes a hell of alot of noise, and I also have rims on my car (18s) and they rub inside the wheel well:ohdamn:, I had to remove them and went with a set of tokico springs and struts works great no rubbing or noise:thumb:.. The struts it self is to short!!! :nono:save your money..

That was your choice going with a 18" wheel and not rolling your fenders, maybe he'll have different luck.

My biggest concern with this is the lack of pertinent information such as the name of the manufacturer and the warranty information. If something were to fail, you wouldn't know if it was covered under warranty or not, nor would you know who to go to when the seller ignores your messages.

Too bad they dont have the camber plates
Camber plates aren't an option on 2G cars due to our double wishbone suspension. We make camber adjustments via the upper control arm, rather than the strut mounting point like McPherson equipped 1G's.

The length of these shocks are adjustable, so how can you say they are too short? If they were too short, it's only because you failed to adjust them to the proper length...

yeah they only rattle because of that pillow ball mount disk thing, tighten it up and get it all adjusted right, it should work out, As for these, I have the EMUSA coilovers and they already noticeably wore out to the point where I cant adjust them anymore, I went back to Tokico Illuminas and Megan springs. Thats Michigan roads for you

Oh and as paul said, Camber plates dont help 2g's, adjustable upper ball joints do.

ok.. why do u want coilovers?? just the way they look or because you want to lower your car?? if your just lowering it why not go with eibach pros? cheaper and you know your getting something good. they cost around $200 new on ebay..

are you kidding me? Have you never messed with suspension before? Im not sure it its different in the dsm crowd but I used to own an rx7, and had multiple 240's and rolling fenders is an everyday thing to have flush decent sized wheels. And like it was stated, you could have adjusted those coils to be higher as well as lower.

they worrn't rubbing the fender had them rolled. they were rubbing in the well itself. I had the coil all the way up, to the point where it wouldnt turn any more.
the lenght of the strut from the top mount to the lower mounting bolt was to short.

OMG... First of all, I am just buying coilovers solely to match my engine bay and wheel scheme "blackgs" your retarded. Second of all, "there not worth it I bought from a company called godspeed", Godspeed has been around for a while and I don't think these will link to them. These were recently posted on ebay roughly a 2 months ago. Godspeed has been around for years. No I am not trying to lower my car and look baller "gusman". I race my car and stock suspension is dangerous at high speeds and in cornering. DSM stock suspension is the worst I have ever driven on. Just for your information I got a message back from the seller stating there is no warranty on these coilovers and replied with "good luck selling them."

Geeze man, your the reason people get banned, you just called a wiseman on here retarded...You post up something about ebay products and expect to get honest DSM'r answers and thats what you get and still act like an ass. Good luck on your future questions bud.

No kidding....

But dude, it IS an ebay product and I do know people who had those. They are just fine at first, but lossen up and its a bouncy ride.. I would 100% get different shocks if your going to attempt to get those.

Stock suspension might be weaksauce but it is predictable, consistent, and reliable. On the track, it will be slow, but not dangerous - that one's up to the driver.

On the other hand, you are looking for ebay products to go racing with. At the minimum, you've removed the elements of predictable and reliable. Think about your options and keep yourself safe, "racer."

Not to jump on the bandwagon here but after honestly looking at some of the specs in that ad, some things jump to out at me, specifically:
Fully adjustable spring rate from 400LB's to 1200LB's for roadcourse, race and normal street driving.
Since spring rates are not adjustable, without changing the actual springs these units would be suspect in my mind immediately… Also, is the adjustability they advertise for the “spring rate” or is there dampening and or Re-bound adjustability? If it does not say, it probably does not have these capabilities…

I am all for budget mods (believe me I drive and attempt to autocross a DSM!) I am as cheap (Broke) as the next guy, but you would be much happier in the long run with some decent name brand springs and especially good quality dampers (like Koni inserts for example)… your ride quality will remain good while still being able to go to the track and not wallow around the course. :D.. but in the end it is your car and your choice how to spend your money, If you pick these up, I hope you prove us wrong... let us know and I may pick up a set! :thumb:

I would probably stay away from this set !!!! I have had a few 240s in the past and i have had kei office coil overs and i have had god speed coils and i didnt see much difference beside the look of the design and the adjusting screw was different but the ride quality was the same believe it or not!!!! they where also powder coated and came with a 6 year warranty!!!!! so, with that being said if your going to cheap out then go for the god speed at least because they come with a warranty and i even called godspeed to verify. hope this helps!!!

No need to be a dick to the guys helping you OP. A quality coilover setup isn't cheap for a reason. Even then, this tacotaco crap looks like 'ebay wannabe coilovers' over some cheap knock off strut they found laying around. Your strut will blow, your ride will suck, your springs will sag, your fenders will rub, your car will be ruined. Instead, take that $440 your about to spend and look at this:

Tokico Blues - $274.40 - Tokico HP Performance Shocks Eagle 95-98 Talon 2WD (All Model)
Megan Racing Springs - $120 ~ 155 - EXTREME PSI : Your #1 Source for In Stock Performance Parts - Megan Racing Lowering Springs: Mitsubishi Eclipse 95-99
MEGAN RACING LOWERING SPRING SMITSUBISHI ECLIPSE 95-99: eBay Motors (item 200487031780 end time Jul-03-10 09:54:51 PDT)

Sandpaper - $few bux

Rustoleum OR ENAMEL BASED SPRAY PAINT - $few bux

(Or whatever color you prefer)

All that and you still spend less or exactly $440.

What a douche, these guys are trying to help you out and you act like a prick.

Making assumptions is not help. I said don't put down ebay products. I have SUNNY tires that were $200 shipped and I have been to 2 high end road rallies that went through Ohio, Kentucky, and Tennesee mountains. They stick to the road and grip up hard and will most likely last me 30k miles. If you have not used these do NOT chime in. I respect everybody on this forum, but to make assumptions like "why are you buying these coilovers just to match your rims/engine color scheme" is stupid. I drive my car and I need tighter suspension. Thanks for the helpful information. I have decided not to go with these because they will not warranty them. No Skillz your completely right about stock suspension very consistent, but at the road rally ths year a civic with full race suspension was taking turns harder than me. Ziggo0 I like that you chimed in with the tokicos and megan springs, and spray paint, but I want something fully adjustable with an anodized look because I can't paint LOL.

My rule of thumb is to not cheap out on brakes and suspension because at the end of the day you HAVE to be able to stop and steer to be safe ;-). K-sports shouldnt cost 2000 bucks.. I got some for my galant (which is the exact same for a 2g) for 700 shipped to my door brand new. Save up and get something better. I know a guy running Yanaka coilovers (look similar to the ones u posted) that are 500 bucks and he said his biggest complaint is that he cant adjust the dampening which is essential to me. Other then that he is happy with them. Good luck
