question 1. whats up with ebay coilovers for the 2g costing $20 bux? Are the springs gonna break in half within a week. I did have some skunk coilovers in a civic and the skunk springs broke in half on the front right. so does brand matter?

question 2. just got a greddy rs for $80, looks real got the greddy engraved part. so i installed that, seems ok, well im boosting 14 lbs and diff gears seem to give me a diff number, like 1st seems to go to 14 then drop to 12. so I'm wondering if its the loose bov dump tube connection to the rubber intake part. that clamp is reversed, meaning you tighten the clamp to pull it out I believe. Anyway thats in there but not tight like the other bov clamp spots. I've only had the car less than a week so don't know much about this thing. do have a little background with a turbo crx but that was venting to air.

Can't wait for my vr dsm fmic kit!

I do not have first hand knowledge about the suspension. I do however with the blow off valve. Assuming its still the stock turbo (your profile is still blank) the boost will taper down as your rpm's increase. its very common due to the fact the turbo is so small. and if your talking about the recirculation tube that runs from the blow off valve to the intake, then no that will have no effect on boost because there is no air flowing through it until you let off the gas and the BOV releases the boost (although you should make sure its tight) :dsm:

I knew someone that tried the cheap Ebay 'coils' and there is not a single good thing about them. You could seriously push down on the car and it would rock up and down continuously on its own. While driving it, it felt like you were on a trampoline and were never sure that the wheels were actually on the ground.

With the boost.....its simply ### of the pee shooter u are using. I take it you have a stock t25, so i dont recommend using that FMIC you just purchased until you install a new turbo... at least a 14b. That FMIC is going to hinder performance, the t25 isn't big enough to need a front mount.....

Thanks for the warning! Seems like that should be pointed out with the kit, oh well still a great deal.

Slap yourself for even thinking about 20 dollar coilovers. I mean come on what do you expect.

I dunno, I'm living socal where there are only like 2 shops left, Dynamic Autosports and Legend Motorsports. There used to be an import perf shop on every corner. I asked Legend what happened, they said the internet shops undercut everyone, put them out of business. People selling direct from China. If I can get a FMIC kit for ~$250, why not coils for $20?

Just to clarify, I think I should say adjustable spring and not coilovers with the full spring and shock. some company's call the adjustable spring coilovers.

It does not matter. The general concensus here is that as far as ebay brand springs/ coilovers, they are crap. Would you trust your cars weight balanced on four $5 parts? And keep in mind that the $5 part is still making that seller a profit so it isn't even that much.

eBay is typically pretty hit or miss when it comes to the quality of their items. Personally, I'd rather spend a little more money, and know exactly what I'm getting.

Your best bet is not to shop Ebay for things like that. Im sure you dont want a coil spring snapping on you while your going 100mph

Take it from someone with personal experience with cheap ebay coilovers. I put some on my car back when I had a 96' rs thinking that it couldn't be that bad.

Well after less than a minute of test driving it I drove back home and switched them back to stock and got some lowering springs instead. The ride was so bouncy, it was unbearable.

ok thanks copper. I'll prob get eibach springs. Whichever ones that lower your car the least amount and put them in with my tokico blues. That will be the last thing I buy though.

If im correct those coil over spring set will not work with your stock shocks and struts, my brother bought them to see what they were. They would work great for a atv. They would not fit the shocks and struts on his car, they say the will fit it but with differnt shocks and struts, that i beleive requires custom work. Although for $20 bucks it made a good garage decoration.

$250?? Show me where, and I will buy myself a kit right now. :(

dude, go to EBAY.COM, then punch in ECLIPSE GSX INTERCOOLER, i'd say at least 400 pop up.
so after you buy it , tell me how good they are or go to the dicussion thats on here and tell them how good it works

I just ran an intake leak test up to 40 psi and my modified 1g compressor bypass valve
(Dejon stop leak kit) held tight as a drum. Thats 40 psi.

The $250 intercoolers are great. I have one like it and love it.

The $20 coilover springs will make you car ride terrible.

I would take a 1g BOV over a greddy any day. I'd take a 1g over 10 greddy's.

Ebay coolers is something I would get for street use but not the coilovers. As for the greddy BOV...I think I would take a coffee over a greddy one ROFL

I went through all the feedback responses of two ebay companys selling the cheap coilovers. I didn't find one negative post. I'm not slamming my car, just doing a 1" max drop. The Tanabe coil springs do this, but cost $200. So far only one person who actually bought them has responded to this thread saying it's too bouncy. I don't think I'm that picky, I've cut coils before and didn't mind the ride. I am poor though, so I'm going for it. I'll post back after install.

I got some of those $74 coilovers from ebay for my 98 golf. and i was pulling 120 down this country road and i start hitting the brakes and i hear a snap and what do u know my right rear spring was snapped. I would just get some name brand coils to be safe. :beatentodeath:

Ok the ebay coilovers are poop. Had them set to stock height, about four finger wheel wheel gap in front and back was a little less. They were very bouncy. I put some used Tanabe springs ($55) in which lowered the car about an inch. So the car is riding lower but not nearly as bouncy. Lesson learned, cost me $40, at least I got some practice replacing shocks and springs.

BTW if you're in socal the only good shop i know of so far for dsms is Road///Race Engineering Mitsubishi Eclipse Parts and Performance and they know their stuff. ebay coilovers obviously junk, i'm waiting on some more funds to get that FMIC though, VR is out of the so i'll just go with someone elses =\. stick to stuff you know and read reviews from people on here, chances are at least one person on here has tried what you're looking for
