Finally got around to cleaning my valves on my rebuild of a 1G 7 bolt. Two exhaust and two intake are not stock, but the rest are. I'm definitely replacing the two exhausts, and I want to replace the two intakes. The exhaust valves that were put in look horrible and have a valve seat that has been ground completely incorrectly on top of being heavier than the stock ones and just looking like they were made cheaply where the stem meets the head of the valve. I suspect there was a valve problem and whoever had this engine before me replaced them with the cheapest valves they could find. The intake ones don't look near was bad, but if the same person that put the exhaust valves in put the intakes in, I don't expect them to be very good.
I haven't been able to find much info on the differences between 2G and 1G valves. I figured I'd just buy 1G OEM valves to match the others in there, but no DSM parts sites have them, despite having the 2G valves. I have been able to find the OEM 1G valves on some generic Mitsubishi parts sites, though. So, my question is, is there a reason no one seems to stock the 1G valves? Are the 2G valves compatible and just that much better? If so, is it worth buying the 2Gs? I figured that would be a bad idea since having them all match would probably be ideal so I was going to go for the 1Gs, but if not, let me know. Thanks!

I personally don't like the stock valves because of the two piece design. I've seen far too many engines drop valves. For me it's stainless only.

For a stock build it's fine but if you're putting any kind of money and parts into the bottom end I would go for SS for cheap insurance.
