hey all, ive read some other posts but nothing is really helping me out. im not a newbie with dsms, however ive never had much to do with the vacuum lines. i just bought my 91 awd tsi almost a week ago, i drove it before i bought it and it drove rough as hell but he did tell me it had a boost leak. the motor itself runs great, no ticks or taps, well upon further inspection when i got the car home, they had a few of the lines hooked up wrong, and others not hooked up at all. what i need help with is figuring out exactly where all the lines go. i have to do it right because colorado requires emissions. i dont kno what a thermal vacuum valve is, and they have eliminated the egr valve, which i need to see exactly where is goes. any actual help will be appreciated.:hmm:

Until you have the FSM your a newbie with DSM's

I assume the thermo valve your asking about is the one in the thermostat housing used to block the EGR valve from working until the car warms up. You'll find it in that manual. There aren't very expensive but since the fitting is plastic they often break off. Yours might still be in the housing to seal it.

The vacuum hose routing is also in that manual set.

the piece you are talking about i found just today, i was going by the vacuum schematic because it showed the most detail and it looks different on the car than it does in the schematic, but right on for the help, its runny like a non turbo right now LOL, i picked up some more hose today to get it all squared away other than that not bad condition for a 700 dollar car. dsms are plentiful and cheap as hell in colorado.
