Just finished installing a new motor in my car. I have a previous thread about it. After marking and reinstalling my vacuum lines Ive noticed that they were still incorrect. My car is overboosting, and Ive been afraid to get on it til I got the lines correctly hooked up. Three friends have redone them for me but it still happens. I boost normally 18-21lbs depending on my application but I hit 24lbs today on a normal on ramp pull. I also only vacuum -10psi instead my normal -20. Ive looked at diagrams and done it myself but its still odd. the car idles great, compression is good, no boost leaks, just little vacuum hoses messing my day up.

Only thing odd ive noticed is that my EGR only has one host hooked up on the left and it was like that on my old motor.

Why don't u just delete ## egr and less vaccum lines/ hoses to worry about...

All throttle body ports are capped but one for boost gauge I assume. Isn't egr just two lines? I'm more worried about my turbo wastegate and blow off valve lines being crossed.

Well that's simple enough. But why am I overboosting? What is the pattern of lines?

so the vacuum lines you need are the BOV, Waste gate, and fuel rail.

- the BOV vacuum line attaches to the nipple right behind the 3rd cylinder injector
- the waste gate vacuum line attaches to the J pipe off the cold end of your turbo
- the fuel rail line connects to one of the connectors on the right near the master cylinder reservoir. don't have a picture right now sry

hope this helps

(not sure about your over boosting problem..)

If u are over boosting your vaccum configuration must be wrong or your wastegate accuator is faulty ... Do you have a MBC?

Here's this so u can look how your vaccum lines are supposed to be if u do not want to block off your egr

first try with only ONE vacuum pipe between the J pipe, and wastegate actuator NO boost controoling.. send the boost to WG-actuator directly..

It will ultimately run to the intake manifold.

Either:
1) keep the fuel pressure solenoid and run it from the FPR to the solenoid and then another line from the solenoid to the intake manifold as in the original set up

OR

2) eliminate the fuel pressure solenoid as well and run it straight from the fuel pressure regulator to the intake manifold.

That's what I figured. But with the stock fpr and fuel pump I figured it'd be best to keep the solenoid. That's what I did on my car at least. But this car has the solenoid deleted and idles like crap. But when I unplug the fpr from the mani the idle raises and idles perfectly.

You sure it's the correct FPR? When you unplug it from the manifold, are you plugging the line to the intake so air isn't leaking in/out?

With that line disconnected, you'll run base pressure (FPR pressure). With it connected and at idle (in vacuum), the fuel pressure should drop.

I unplugged the vacuum line from the fpr and idle raised. And idled perfectly. Put my finger on the end of the vacuum line and the idle dropped and ran ruff. I think there's a vacuum leak somewhere. Everythings blocked and capped off though.
