whats up guys...i'm in need of some opinions.....i was able to stumble on a 1G head that i plan on unsing on my 2g (stock 7 bolt bottom end)...i'm looking for opinions and advice as to what setup of springs, retainers..etc to use....i was planning on using some SS valves, with crower titanium springs&retainers....i currently have the FP1 cams which i plan on using on the 1g head (if they fit, which they should correct?)....i'm not 100% sure as to which valves to use. and weather or not i should go with the 1mm oversized valves...so can you guys please give me advice as to which setup would best compliment my setup(listed below).......

MODS : B16G turbo, FP1 cams, FMIC w/ 2.5 short route piping, FIC 650s, Walboro 255 rewired, intake, exhaust 3" turbo back, dsmlink...and other misc mods that i dont think would be affected by the head...

p.s i would plan on running a this head on a 2.3 stroker, but it won't be for a while from now, so i would have to redo the head a 2nd time, i just want something that will produce power, and airflow to compliment my 16g......thanks

A couple of questions:

-Have you searched at all in terms of "building up" your head?

-Why are you saying that you will have to "redo" your head to compliment the 2.3 stroker? Judging by your modification list, you should be educated enough to know that a Level 6 Top Secret head is not needed to put down some serious power.

Also, this is Advanced Tech, learn how to use the shift key. :thumb:

Since you are asking for opinions; I think the springs and keepers etc. are a waste of money. Until you reach the 10 second high rev, with high lift cams stage, I would keep the stockers. These springs have no problem maintaining up to and over the 8k range. You are very unlikely to boss out a keeper unless you are going above the 9k range or using a high lift cam that may put stress on the top of the valve stem. As for the valves, stainless is a good idea due to heat retention, strength and weight. But the 1mm over I'm not so sure about. Our heads have such great flow that I would not worry about the extra 1mm until, again, we are looking at 10 second machines. But if you do go 1mm over make sure to do the seats also. You are predicated by the size of your hole. If you don't widen the seat diameter then you have done virtually nothing.

Anyhow just my .02
