I am trying to identify what these two plugs are for. They are located under the fuse box and tie into the chassis harness from the engine harness. This is on my 1993 Auto TSI AWD.

Black and white is the defrost other not sure what' it's called lighting connector for inside ights i believed I did a wire harness job before controls radio power, I believe.

Iugrad is right on the black/white.

The other is essential. Red is power to something. Can't quite remember, but you need it. Shit I can't remember. I'll look it up for you. Blue and the yellow are alternator dummy light and power steering switch I think.

After going through circuit diagrams I was able to find information on the smaller plug, but not the longer single wire plug.

A52
Red wire - AC fan relay
Yellow/black - Power steering oil pressure switch
Blue/red - Power window relay

Couldn't find A53 plug in the circuit diagrams anywhere.

Good stuff. Looks like all i'll need to extend is the power window wire then.

Thank you. I posted above what the other plug is.

ok it's a 4 pin plug with only 3 in it? You can ditch the yellow, it's PS switch. You need the other 2. I only have the charts for a 91, and the connector numbers are different. Those are A52 and A53 in a 91. Shouldn't matter the circuit is the same - I had a 92 engine harness in my 91 for a long time.

If you need pins for the 4 pin connector, I have them or you should be able to get them local I have found them at a John Deere dealer that does a lot of service work. They have a JD harness serivce kit.

Thank you sir! That is very helpful. I've been doing a lot of engine harness cleanup lately

Make sure you get the correct terminals for the connector. Just because it seems to fit, doesn't mean it is right. If the seating depth is off a little bit, or the thickness of the terminal is off a little, it could work at first, but cause issues down the road. I've run into that issue before, even with a good harness manufacturer, making an oops on cross compatibility.
