Didn't know where to put this request, as I'm hardly a newbie...LOL.

Anyway I'm close to starting my "back from the dead" basket case '93 Talon AWD. The thing is the wiring harness in the engine is nothing but splices, it actually looks like every single connector was replaced! I'm specifically talking about the thermostat housing, I never noticed but there are FOUR connections on there. First there is a "L" shaped one on the front side below the cap, I have that connector no problem. Next to it towards the engine is a single post connector, well I think i have that on the harness too. Ok next above the "L" shaped plug is a white 2 pin connector with nothing on it, however taking tape off the harness I found two wires without a connector on it.

Can anyone tell me what color wires go to that white connector? That way I can see if these wires are for that connector. And buried behind the housing is a single spade connector, i have nothing for that. So can anyone give me wire colors (should be easy just to pop your hood and tell me) and possibly what these connectors do and why the PO eliminated some?

Naturally I want the temp gauge to work in the car and i think one of them goes to the ECU also.

I've already got my harness all wrapped up but here is a picture I took while I was working on it. It shows all the wires that go to the thermostat and o2 sensor. I can give you more info when I get home from work in a few hours.

Here you can see my finished harness. I only kept 2 of the 3 plugs that go to the thermostat. The one for the gauge has a single yellow wire. The actual coolant temperature sensor has a green wire and a yellow wire. Mine just have simple female spade connectors instead of the factory connectors. The one that I removed, the one with the white connector, is the AC Thermoswitch. I didn't keep it since my A/C is removed. I can't tell you the colors for that one at the moment but as soon as I get home I can check my notes and let you know exactly what color wires go to it.

Hope this helps!

Well your pics didnt show up, but your description helped. I already ordered some FSM's on disc but they didnt get here yet, thanks for the download links BTW. Looks like the PO deleted the A/C plug, makes sense since he deleted the A/C. Thanks guys for helping this old hand out!

No problem, sorry about the pics though, I'm at work so maybe that had something to do with it. I'll try to fix them when I get home. You won't need the thermoswitch if you don't have A/C. I took mine out, all the way back to the ECU, along with 2 other A/C related plugs, the sightglass and the compressor plugs.

Here is a link to what I did to my harness: Removing part of the engine wire harness. You might find it helpful!

***update***

I checked my notes and the A/C thermoswitch has a green/yellow wire (which goes to the a/c sightglass) and a black/green wire (which goes to pin #7 on the ECU). Hope this all helps somehow!
