Hello fellow DSM'ers,

So earlier this year I blew a HG and decided that it was a perfect time to actually build my car :) a few of the mods I'm gonna list were on there already, including the Maft.

Anyway, my issue is that I cant keep my car running. It will start for 5-10 seconds and just die and I have no idea what I need to look for...and help would be greatly appreciated! Mods are as follows:

port and polish.
750cc injectors.
GM maf.
MafT.
Unknown turbo (theres litterally no markings on it LOL)
Aftermarket FPR.
External Wastegate.

Also forgot to add, I replaced my ignitor, coil pack, and checked my CAS and all are in working order...if that means anything. I've zero'd out everything and set the MafT to run on 750's and it still didnt work

Have you done a boost leak test? Have you checked over your work making sure everything is plugged in property and all the way. Is the cas in correct and not 180 out? How old is the gas in the tank? Is the afpr adjusted properly?

You might want to add another source of tuning 750s are a bit large for the maft to tune as a standalone device. With stock injectors on the 14b pushing 17 psi I was having a hard time dialing in with just a maft alone.

I run 10's on one. but I run it zeroed out and tune the ecu, not the maft.

Several have gone faster using it to tune.

OP, do you have a datalogging cable? If your going to run this way, I'd suggest finding a cable, and download the old school TMO so you can pull a datalog and we can take a look at it.

The thing is that it ran with no issues prior to me overheating. Its not til i added all the other stuff that it crapped out.

Cas is correct, I checked it plus it runs...well, until it just stops. Havent done a boost leak test because its been sitting and I did one prior before i tried to start it

Trust me, as soon as i get money im getting DSMLink...but until then, im stuck with what i have :(

Make sure your using the right version instructions on maft, confirmed 750s?
Dip switches set correctly?
Fullthrottletech.com

Thats the thing. Fullthrottletech will only show one thread and i dont know why. My version is 1.7 and theres no document for it. Its either the first gen or 2.x.

I believe there was a cable in it, but PO took it out. :(

Gas is fairly old but I wouldnt think that bad gas would cause my car not to idle....or could it?

Also, if it means anything (which I'm sure it will LOL) my car wont turn over on the standard coil setup(4-1-2-3). in order for mine to turn over, it has to be setup like this: (2-3-4-1).

So for those following, I messed around with my MafT and did something interesting. Instead of setting it up as a 1g, I said "oh what the hell do I have to lose?" And set it up as a 2g...and it worked. Held idle a lil longer than before but still shut off. I thought that was kinda weird but perhaps somebody could chime in?

I know I'm new here but figured I'd chime in....I think Donniekak is asking about a wideband gauge and sensor which you can use to help set your a/f ratio which is different from just a a/f gauge which just reads your o2 signal.

Your firing order comment has me pretty confused, unless this is a common problem I don't know about? I'm with dsmkauai...check your work and see if something got plugged in wrong or not plugged in. Don't think you should have to change your firing order for new injectors. What size injectors were you running pre-boom-pssshhh?

The same injectors...750's. The coil pack firing order came from a search on here...forgot who the OP was.

As far as plug ins, i believe everything is where it should be. Im trying to find a diagram or a labeled wiring harness pic just to verify everything is where it should be....and a ground guide if any.

Here's a shot of the 1g ignition system diagram taken from a Haynes manual. Sorry it's not a good shot but maybe it can help.

Okay still stumped on this situation. I've checked wires, looked for grounds that weren't grounded, set my MAFT the way its supposed to be set up, checked my ECU, checked my CAS, checked timing, checked for boost leaks, put fresh 92 Octane gas in the tank AND am planning on buying a SAFC2 to help tune this mofo out a lil bit more. is there ANYTHING that I'm forgetting to check?

I disconnected my GM MAF just to see if it would start and it didn't, so that would eliminate that part from the possible malfunction list correct? any help is HIGHLY recommended right meow

I'm just stumped that nobody has had this issue or any relatable issue like it that I could search for. O_O

How does the car run for the 5 or 10 seconds that it does? Rough, smooth, misfires, smokes, chokes out, etc.?
Have you done boost leak and compression / leak down tests? What were your numbers?
What do your plugs look like? Are your injectors spraying "normal"?
Have you checked your fuel filter and in-tank prefilter for good flow since you changed the gas? What's your FPR reading?

I'm still confused on your firing order. I'll do a search on here to read more about it but can you post the link that talks about that change?
