Sooo.. the short story is I relocated my alternator and im not getting any voltage out of the alternator. The idiot light also does not turn on.

I verified continuity from the B terminal to the 80 amp fuse then all the way to the battery itself.

I then verified ground continuity from alternator body to block and then the battery directly.

2nd guessing myself I made a temp ground from alternator body direct to negative batt. Terminal.

This leads me to think the 2 wires in the plug may have got flipped when I extended them. Is there an easy way to test this? Continuity or voltage? One of them "should" trigger the warning lamp id think.

There is no reason my alternator should have died just by relocating... its clean and never seen oil.

Im willing to admit I may have had a brain fart

Ok guys! Since Im a man and willing to admit my mistakes...

I got under the car to test my pins.... and I found the connector not even in the alternator!

Plugged it in and all good including my wiring and upgrade to zero gauge charge wires.. lesson learned to check the basics... dowm side to the relocation kit.. would have been obvious in stock location!

Let the flames begin.. its cold here anyway!
I assume when you extended the wire you didn't use wire that matched the existing colors?

It would be a likely case that you swapped them from the symptoms but try measuring each with a voltmeter to see which one powers up when you turn the ignition on.

Didnt have matching colors on hand but thought I wrote things down right. Ill check to see if if i get voltage to pin 2 with ignition on.

Thank you!

I have energized alternators before by shortly jumping the battery terminal to the exciter terminal and then releasing. It is hard to do in your case since it is on the back. I have not ever done it on a DSM I will also say, but that is what the idiot light does, temporarily excites the terminal to start it charging. Used to do it all the time on GM stuff WAY back when.
