1G Will a 2g alternator bracket fit on a 1g alternator

I'm looking to mount my 1g alternator back on my car but the alternator bracket is missing. The 2g brackets "look" like they MIGHT work but I need to know for sure. The 1g stuff is getting hard to find. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

For what it is worth, 1G and 2G alternator brackets are different. If I remember correctly, the 2G bracket is shorter than the 1G. Just found this, bummer.

I wonder if there is anyway to mod a 2g bracket to work??

If it being shorter is the only difference, you can extend it if you have a welder or a friend with one.

Use a shorter belt with the shorter 2G bracket?

Just spit-balling here - that may put the tensioner bolt too close to the power steering belt.
