N/t Alternator fit on Turbo 4g63?

So my Alternator must have went out being that my electrical power died out while driving home from the gym. I'm curious, there are tons of n/t dsm's at the local junkyard, will those alternators work fine on my car?? Or if anyone knows of the best place for me to get a rebuilt or cheap oem one, please let me know!

...just don't go to Autozone ... Preferably a good alternator shop in the area that'll rebuild yours, or you take yours in for a core credit for a good rebuilt one.

The non turbo alternator will work just fine. Have yours tested before replacing it though just to verify that it is the problem.

I haven't tested it yet, but I've killed my battery many times and it's always been rechargeable. You know how i can test my alternator after it's already off??

Take it to an autoparts store, they can usually run a test for you.

Replying to this thread to make sure a 4G63 NA Alternator will work fine on a 4G63T. Figured there was no need to make a new thread after finding this via the search button.

I know if the donor car is a NT 4g63 it will work just fine.

The only thing to look at is if you can buy a reman at a local parts store with a lifetime warranty it works out for the better usually, I use to run large stereo systems in my vehicles. Even using a 2.4 farad capacitor I went through 5-6 alternators a year and with the warranty I was never questioned just free replacements. It saved me money in the long run just buying one with a warranty and it was only like 120 or so.

Got mine at autozone warranty no problems owned several over the many many years of owning dsms.

Yea I am aware most of us use every bit of the warrenty. Because we have to. But since I have a NA 4G63 Alternator laying in the garage, it's free. So what if it fails sometime. I didn't put any money into it. I know it is a direct bolt on, but was wondering the difference is amp output between a NA and a Turbo alternator.

Ok well that definitely makes me feel better because I was told the NA was only 65 amps.

The manual trans is rated at 10 amps lower than the automatic transmission, thats the only differences I am aware of, I replaced mine with an automatic to get a little bit more amperage for big electronics.

This is sort of and most likely correct.

But the Canadian versions came with 90 amp not 75 because they MUST have daytime running lights.

So that would be the only difference.

*edit* With us living so close to Canada I actually have seen a few alts that were actually Canadian at wrecking yards.

Yea I was aware or the Canadian DSM's having bigger amperage alternators due to having the headlights on 24/7. Wish I could find one at a junkyard.
