For those who are or have already restored a 2G,

Now that they've stopped making parts for these cars, how do you handle replacement/repair of:
Sunroof
Airbags
Ignition system
Transmission and clutch ??

In particular,

I have a leaky stock sunroof due to rusting between the glass and the attached metal strip. Is there a repair or replacement?

I'm also wondering what to do about the airbags. As old as the car is, I'm thinking they may be unsafe, although the airbag computer under the armrest looks fine.

If I can settle those issues, then I can go ahead with a post-crankwalk engine rebuild, and trying to figure out the screwy electrical system around the starter.

Thanks ahead of time for any help or suggestions.

Funny I've dealt with all of those problems on the 98

You can repair the air bag cover yourself. You will never find a good 97-99 air bag cover in black

Stupid sunroof! I've never seen them rust before. Have to hit the junkyard, the frame under the glass is trashed

I have one. But the corner has started to pop up, and I have no idea how to fix it :ohdamn:

You can scuff up the metal plate of the air bag frame and use glue, or do like I did and drill small holes in the back frame of the air bag, and make holes in the side of the cover, and use tiny zip ties to hold the cover to the frame
