Hey guys! Some of you may know me from a previous thread where I talked about getting this GSX. So Im starting this thread because I got it last night! The seller was asking $5,000 for it. After I checked it out I realized that it is not worth $5,000. So I offered a straight trade for my 1995 Honda Prelude. We mad the deal and I am extremely happy with the GSX! It does have its share of flaws though. It in desperate need of a respray! Then the suspension feels really jacked up! I hear a knocking sound when I turn! Also when I try and make a U-turn and pull the wheel all the way to the left it kinda feels like its rubbing and the tires don't want to roll! It also shakes when I'm going 60+ mph. The clutch feels way too soft! IDK if its just cause I'm used to hondas but it takes little to no effort to push the pedal down! Last night I tried to see how it would launch and I revved it to 3500 RPM's and released the clutch and it didn't take off it pushed me back in the seat and the just stopped like I was hitting the brakes! So I gotta do some research and find out whats causing that but its definitely is a project, but I see the potential and am determined to make it a street monster! Heres the pics guys enjoy!

I did jack up the car today and checked out the suspension! the rotors look pretty rusted and old! The driver and passenger side axle boots were not ripped, but the passenger side that was connected looked like it was leaking. The shocks and springs look pretty worn! Heres some pics of the underside of the car!

A buddy of mine said that revving at 3500 RPM's was bogging out the car so he said rev between 4500-5000 RPM's and I finally experienced an awd launch!!! I will be changing out both front axles this next weekend! Hope I get a smooth install!!!

Another thing I'd jump on is checking and replacing all the fluids. It's the first thing I do when I buy a car, regardless of what the previous owner said. I like to know it's done right with quality fluids and such. :)

Already took care of that! Lol

Good luck, I would be leery of anyone willing to trade a gsx for a prelude. Everything has pretty much been covered by everyone else. Your car not rolling back is a really strange tho.

I think it was sitting for a while! Just cause I've been driving it and things have slowly been coming back it rolls back now but not as much as I would think it would! The car is a suspension nightmare but nothing that can't be fixed!

Clicking noise while turning and the tires rotating is usually a clear sign of a bad CV shaft. You could also inspect the wheel bearings. The wobble in the steering at 60mph plus could be a couple of things I would do an alignment and get the tires rotated and balanced ASAP. The popping noise from the suspension could be a blown strut or improper spacing of the spring also make sure all the nuts are completely fastened down on the strut towers good luck man!!!!

Thanks alot! When I turn the wheel all the way on either side the car will not go like the wheels get stuck! I'm hoping that the axle repair fixes this!

Ya that makes sense it could be the cv shaft popping out of the wheel hub when the front wheels are fully turned

I hope it also fixes the knocking sound when I either accelerate, brake, and turn!

Anyone know some cost effective clutch kits that are good quality! I'm leaning towards a stage 3 kit!

Thanks guys! I'm looking for a solid 300hp once I get this suspension thing fixed! For a 300hp DD stage 3 or stage 4? Which would be best?

your car not rolling back, i think your brakes/calipers are seized, or seizing, when you accelerate alittle bit in forward, does the car stop on its own? like almost like its braking itself? my car has rear right caliper seizing and it does roll back and such, but it has a wobling feeling to it. and if i go slow enough i does stop itself. so you might have more that one caliper or brake related problem.

Doesn't really brake on its own i just think its been sitting a while! I've been driving it and it's been getting better everyday!

x2

also, AWD cars are one hell of a experience. I had a gsx a couple years ago. Those things are fun man. Enjoy!

With that Greddy 18g you can put down some serious power! The Greddy non-recirc intake is really neat, but definitely should find an intake with a recirculating fitting, and a recirc fitting for the HKS BOV. You probably noticed how the car somewhat bogs and bucks after every shift Joey? The Stock MAF is confused from the pressure loss.

What's up Jason! Yeah I'm still trying to figure out a lot of this stuff! Lol the whole DSM/AWD/TURBO deal is all new to me! I'll get it though! The car does bog/buck after shifts! So I'll start looking for a recirculating fitting!!

Sick car man I'd take a gsx for a 💩prelude💩 any day 😃👍I would personally get rid of the tan interior tho

Thanks alot! The tan interior doesn't really bother me right now! I think it's mixed cool for now but I will convert to all black eventually!

Man guys! I feel like a straight idiot!! I looked towards the bottom of my intake pipe and look what I found! It turns out my pipe does have a recirculating flange!
