Hey guys! Some of you may know me from a previous thread where I talked about getting this GSX. So Im starting this thread because I got it last night! The seller was asking $5,000 for it. After I checked it out I realized that it is not worth $5,000. So I offered a straight trade for my 1995 Honda Prelude. We mad the deal and I am extremely happy with the GSX! It does have its share of flaws though. It in desperate need of a respray! Then the suspension feels really jacked up! I hear a knocking sound when I turn! Also when I try and make a U-turn and pull the wheel all the way to the left it kinda feels like its rubbing and the tires don't want to roll! It also shakes when I'm going 60+ mph. The clutch feels way too soft! IDK if its just cause I'm used to hondas but it takes little to no effort to push the pedal down! Last night I tried to see how it would launch and I revved it to 3500 RPM's and released the clutch and it didn't take off it pushed me back in the seat and the just stopped like I was hitting the brakes! So I gotta do some research and find out whats causing that but its definitely is a project, but I see the potential and am determined to make it a street monster! Heres the pics guys enjoy!

I did jack up the car today and checked out the suspension! the rotors look pretty rusted and old! The driver and passenger side axle boots were not ripped, but the passenger side that was connected looked like it was leaking. The shocks and springs look pretty worn! Heres some pics of the underside of the car!

Man, ROFL everyone drooling over the tan/black interior avoiding Op's request for factory service manual download. cruel LOL joke.

Op, type it in the SEARCH above. open the search forums type FSM or complete wording, it should pop up on the sticky.

Thanks! I did get it from the frequently asked question section! Lol

Well guys I managed to get a little work done! I jacked up the car and ripped the old axles off (both sides). Replaced them! Overall the car feels more solid! The wheel doesn't really shake as bad when going 70+ mph! As for the wheel locking up when making a U-turn...it wasn't totally fixed but it's a lot better! I know I need to change out some more stuff ASAP! Here are some pics!

what injectors are you running? Stock? With a bigger turbo I would get at least evo injectors and fuel pump. Also a tune and dsmlink can help.

Right now its all stock it's not really being driven! Unless it rains then I'll have to drive it! I'm planning my next moves! I will definitely go with bigger injectors, fuel pump, and a tune!

Sounds good man, and honestly it was a good find. Not many people upgrade their cars with expensive parts. It seems the PO had a Greddy fetish of some type haha. When I see these cars for sale they all have ebay intake and fake ebay 16gs with rigged soda bottle catch cans etc.

bottom line...awesome find and you seem to know the proper things to do (maintenance>mods).

Goodluck

Binding while turning indicates a welded center differential. Not rolling backwards on a hill is either extremely incorrect tire pressures or incompatible tire sizes. A welded diff exaggerates the situation even more because there is no viscous coupling to allow for compensation of different rotational speed in the drive line.

I'll take that tan interior once you go black ;)

That 18g looks to be pretty new to me, it still has the factory green dot by the compressor outlet.

Thanks alot guys! I'm gonna take it slow and hopefully soon I get all the proper stuff to run it safely!! So I can finally drive it and have some fun!! :)

Hey guys! I was looking on ebay and found a 1.25 recirculating adapter for my hks bov. Would I need anything else for this adapter to make it fit into my bov? Also I noticed that the position of my bov is not really a good spot! I noticed that when my hood is closed it sits right on the top of my bov. In order to make it sit lower would I need a new pipe with a hks flange for the bov?

Flip that pipe with the BOV on it upside down, itll still function properly but be no where near the hood, and that piece should work as long as you have a true HKS. You'll also need a rubber hose to put back into the intake pipe and some band clamps to secure it. Go to Autozone or something and check out different sizes of radiator hoses.

EDIT** I didnt see that you had the stock upper intercooler pipe until now. Order a hard (metal) upper intercooler pipe with the HKS flange.

Thanks! I've been searching for a upper intercooler pipe but I can't find just the pipe for a good price!

Ok guys I'm trying to get the whole tuning process straight! As of right now I know that I have a stock 97 ecu! Im trying to determine how I am gonna tune it! I know that there is dsmlink and eprom is needed to run it correct? If someone could please help explain the programs and also benefits. I'd really appreciate it! I can't seem to find a good thread that explains the whole process for 2g dsm's! Thanks Guys!

Also look into ecu flash. You will need 98/99 2g ecu. This route ends up being cheaper than ecmlink. However, I think dsmlink is more user friendly. Read the stickies in tuning section.

I've been looking into them and can't really see anything!

Another question Im having is I am going to buy a set of injectors today and I need somewhat of a quick answer! They are SL4-750 RC injectors.....If I'm correct they are saturated injectors! Would it be a problem running these on my gsx? I have been reading that people use peak and hold injectors due to the low impedance? Just want to know if ill be fine with the SL4-750's! Thanks again!

Alright guys! I have a little progress so far! Just thought I'd keep you guys in the loop as well as get your guys opinions! As of right now I'm accumulating parts to throw them all in at one time. I'm not looking to start a crazy all out build yet, but I would like to have a little fun this upcoming summer! So with that these are the parts that I have waiting to be installed!

-Autometer c2 electric vac/boost gauge
-AEM uego wideband
-PTE 880cc injectors
-Walbro 255 FP

I'm pretty sure I will be buying a fuel pressure regulator but I need to source out a cheap good working one! As well as an EPROM ecu and of course a tune! If I'm missing a vital piece of the puzzle please don't hesitate to let me know! Thanks guys!

I may have not read this whole thing but did you mention what your goals are as far as power and drive ability goes? I see your list of mods and what you're going to be buying then I saw your classifieds ad and they seem to contradict each other a little bit. Just looking for clarity is all so we can help suggest things a little better.

Well I ended up buying the injectors and fuel pump off of another member of the forum just recently after I posted the ad in the classified section. So their not really contradicting each other, but as far as goals go I'm looking to have a weekend warrior during the summer time and somewhat of a daily driver during rainy days! With that said I'm looking to get the most out of the parts that I do have and still have a safe set-up!

Looks like you got yourself a project there sir. I'd swap out those headlamps in a heartbeat. Can't wait to see the finished product.

Lol thanks! Yeah their pretty nasty! I'm just waiting to get a respray! Then I'll get some new ones!

Alright guys well I got my tires balanced today hoping it would stop my steering wheel shakes! It stopped a little but nowhere near where I wanted it to be. It shakes at higher speeds between 55 mph and higher! It does not really shake when I accelerate but more when I let off of the gas. I've already replaced both front CV axles and got the tires balanced! What could be the next thing that could cause this to happen? Thanks guys!
