I recently purchased a 1997 eclipse GSX with a blown motor. The car is currently set up for a 6 bolt motor, and has a 1G head. I have a new 6 bolt motor to put in but I have a few questions. I was looking at the the blown motor which starts but knocks and I noticed that there are two sensors up by the intake manifod and fuel rail that have no place to go. They are plugged in but, are not on the engine anywhere so they cant be functional. Does anybody have any idea what therse sensors are, and if there is anyway to bypass them.

There are three near the driver's side of the fuel rail on the wiring harness. One is for the AC plug on the compressor, one is for the crank angle sensor, and one for the cam angle sensor (located under the intake cam gear).

Since you already have a 1g head on there, chances are they split the harness for the 1g CAS.

Please post a large scale photo of your engine bay and then pictures of the actual sensors themselves. Pictures will help tremendously.
