ok yes i searched i just want to make sure i understood everything...

1st Q? can i use a 2g coil pack on my 6 bolt?

2nd Q? do i need any special bolt for the clutch which are those circled in red?

3rd Q? 6 bolt flywheel and xtd stage 4 clutch bolt right up to the 97 awd transmission correct no special modification?

4th Q? crank sensor is removed and now will only use the cam angle sensor on 6 bolt?

I ask this because im going to take all this to the mechanic anything i should let him know before he does the job...btw im happy he is only charging me 300$ on labor since he is my dad's best friend. :hellyeah:

I luv my dsm can't wait to hear it roar. :D

the 1g/2g coils are internally compatable. mounting them is slightly different due to the small difference in sizes.

90-99 awd clutches are all the same

Yes, you can use the 2G coil pack.

You don't need any special bolt outside of the original bolts; they are M8 x 1.25mm pitch x 16mm long

All turbo DSMs use the same clutch disk, not just AWD cars. The flywheel will be transmission specific -- in your case it will need to be from an AWD. These do not "bolt up" to the transmission, they connect to the crankshaft, by the way.

Here's a thread with a lot of good information on the 6-bolt swap when you utilize the 1G CAS: http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/electrical-tech/394020-how-test-1g-cas.html#post152483430

Road///Race Engineering Mitsubishi Eclipse Parts and Performance has a good write-up and MAGNUSmotorsports does too!

1.You have to modify the 1g coil braket to adapt to the 2g Coil pack.
2.Use everything you had on the 7bolt EXCEPT your 7bolt FLYWHEEL. (use awd 6bolt Flywheel)
3. Yes remember to use ALL the bolts for the bell housing as well as dowel alignment pins.
3.5 <-- ALSO remember to cut off the weight on the tranny.
4. Yes, you will now be using JUST a 1g CAS. both sites have a good writeup on how to make a harness to adapt to your swap!

Hope that helped!:hmm:

If you don't cut the counter weight off the transmission, it will hit the lower radiator hose. It will be harder to shift into some gears with it on as it hits the hose and you have to force it by it. It doesn't have any negative effect on the trans.

I have heard this many times, yet I was not forced to cut off the counterweight in my '96 GST 6-bolt swap (w/ 1G thermostat housing and water pipe). It has been shifting fine since the swap was finished 2-3 years ago. Maybe it's an AWD issue? :idontknow:
