Alright I started a build thread over on 4g61t.org (colt forums)
Some stuff I will copy over
My original plans for this car were to keep it fun... and then the competitive side in me came out and i went full Race Car. Its basically setup for drag racing... just because the cars going to be a great sleeper (besides the gigantic intercooler<will be painting black> and side exit) :p
Care is a 1992 base model decently clean for being a 1992 beater
I want to get the car to 2000 lbs if i can.
Car is completely stripped
No ac/heater

Crappy stock seats :p
IMG_4686.JPG
this rust really scared me... but its still solid and pretty much on the surface.. my roll cage should mount up in those spots any way... (after i weld in the steel plates)
IMG_4694.JPG

BOOOOOOOOOOM Rear suspension is out.
IMG_4712.JPG
One major step.. Cutting out the spare tire well for the rear end to fit..

IMG_4713.JPG
Hobart 140 mig welder.. amazing for the price I would highly recomend it.. same parts as a miller
It will handle anything i need to do on a car
IMG_4717.JPG
This car claimed a lot of cut off wheels...
IMG_4722.JPG

Its out!!!!!!
IMG_4948.JPG

Cleaning the wheel wells sucked... i made the mistake of trying to use a wire brush.. worked but super slow.
The next day I came back for round 2 with a wire wheel and a high speed drill.
IMG_4958.JPG

IMG_5336.JPG

Starting to mock up the rear end!!!
IMG_5604.JPG

Make a custom wiring harness... itd be fun they said...
NOT.
IMG_5111.JPG

filling in some holes...

TUBEFRAME!!!
IMG_5610.JPG

All cleaned up and chopped the frame rails out
IMG_5617.JPG
IMG_5622.JPG

Such an ugly weld on this side... :( was still learning how to do major gaps
But im really liking how easy it will be to access timing/front case

IMG_5685.JPG

This was honestly a pain in the ass to mock up...
IMG_5713.JPG

The finished product :D
IMG_5718.JPG

front motor mount turned out decently.
IMG_5715.JPG
IMG_5717.JPG

Rear end is completely in and bolted up!!!
Today I got the driveshaft measured for where i need to shorten it
Monday im going to get it shortened
Trans is on the bench and getting the shift kit/clutches
