A guy is selling a 16g on craigslist. He sent me a picture. This is the picture he sent me. It doesnt seem to be stamped TD05. He said it came off of a evo III. Could someone have. Any help would be nice. If i go to look at it, what should i look for beside shaft play? Is it real or ebay or something else (how to tell)?

I do not agree

It has an evo serial number on it: 49378-01520

That is for an evo 4-9 style 4g63 turbo. It has revers blade. I am not familiar with evo turbos, what evo it came off of, but its definitely not a 1-3 since they had similar 4g63 engine design to ours.

Big16g on the left, 14b on the right.
So I would definitely say fake.

It is a later model evo turbo, it looks to be legit to me, BUT, it will not work on a 90-99 4g63.

This thread is sad, not you op. I meant the seller. He's passing his mistake or load onto you. Hope the seller is not a dsmer.

don't the EVO 16g's bolt up but there is no clearance for fans or something like that...correct me if I'm wrong

They do not bolt up at all. They face the opposite direction if you were to make an adapter and put it on than you would have to use a civic half radiator. It just isn't logical at all.

Its a legit MHI turbo from an evo. You "can" make it work, but you need to fabricate quite a bit to make it work, as the turbo sits the opposite direction.

This thread is old. You want to use one get the manifold for it and buy the adapter of eBay. Not the evo to dsm but the one that keeps it twin scroll. Then it will work but it will sit very close to the alternator.
Otherwise you'll need a custom job.

Wow!!! How long is the intercooler pipe coming off the compressor cover?? Why is it so long?, seems like you could have gotten it much shorter! Or are you still using a smic and not a fmic??
