ebay turbo or real mhi 16g turbo?

so i took off my turbo and found out the hard way after buying a rebuild kit that its some fake P.O.S. so i was talking to a buddy and he has another 16g but i went to check it out and it looks just like my fake one, it says turbocharger on it and then it says type-dsm/evo3 or evoIII i forgot and then on both it has a serial number that are pretty close... anyway without taking it apart that i can find out if his turbo is fake too? thanks in advance.

Any turbo that has to be labeled "TURBOCHARGER" is obviously a knock off.

This "label" is for the people actually purchasing pretend performance parts off of Ebay or the like instead of buying it from a reputable, domestically located, knowledgeable, performance shop. Because when people purchase a turbo charger off of ebay, in hopes that it will perform the same as a real, genuine turbo charger, they need to be told that what they're buying is actually a "turbocharger"

Not trying to flame you at all man, But if your turbo is a knock-off and has a "turbocharger" label on it and your buddy's looks the same, this thread never needed to be created.

eBay turbo for sure. As stated above, MHI turbos don't say "turbocharger" or anything like that. Just TDO4 or 5 depending on turbo model.

ok first off liquid you need to get some sleep because i have never seen you not on this site , and yea i was thinking that cause as soon as i looked at my buddies turbo i said it was fake but i was just hoping that i was wrong... well if anyone has a blown real 16g turbo that they want to sell me, PM me. thanks guys FML
