Real MHI E3 16G?

Hey guys i came across this turbo on CL and the guy clames its a legit MHI EVO3 16g. it has minor shaft play and appears to be a good buy but last time i said that i ended up with an ebay peice of junk, so i wanted to get some advice before i bought it. he wants 300 firm for it and the manifold is still atached supposibly because he just never took it off "not shure if thats a red flag". but i basically want to know if it looks like the real deal and if you guys think its worth 300. thanks!

Where is the serial number located on the turbo?

It will be beveled on the compressor housing

looks like a real MHI TD05 turbo but the serial will tell which one, EVO III, Bigg 16g, Small etc... Assuming it hasn't been modified or the compressor housing swapped or something.

Looking at the turbine housing flange, it looks like a evo3 16g. The flange is thinner and shape like a clover leaf on an Evo3 16g. Big 16, small 16, and 14b has a think square flange. They can always switch so you have to measure the compressor wheel to tell for sure.

I bought it. serial numbers matched and it only had a little side to side play and no in and out play. now im going to get jusmx to rebuild it! thanks for the help guys.
