Resolved Is this a REAL MHI 16G?

I bought this turbo from a dealer in my city and they said that it was the same supplier that supplies Slowboy. The box has a MHI sticker on it with a serial number that matches the number on the turbo. I have someone that says it is a knock off? What you think?

I tried several times last night but the were all to big. I set the camera on the lowest setting and in email mode and they still would not upload. I will try again later.

It looks real to me,what does it say on the compressor housing.It should say tdo5h and some other cerial numbers.If its blank then its ebay 16g and if it say evo 3 gt then its the gt version which by looking at the turbine housing it looks to be a MHI housing.

You finger is covering the serial numbers, but it looks like the MHI one to me.

Looks to me like the REAL thing, you need to show the numbers...But if it has the td05 on it, and also that style of waste gate actuator then its the real deal.

From what I have seen the knock off evo gts have a round arm on the wastegate flapper and the one you showed doesnt so I would have to agree with the others in saying it is the real thing. Travis

Looks real from the pics, but try to take a pic with the serial #s

Yea its real, like someone else stated the knock offs have round wastegate flapper arms and the MHI's have a flat one like your turbo.

Looking at the wheel it looks like a evo 16g.

Looking at the exhaust side where it mates up to an o2 housing, it looks like an evoIII.

You will notice the housing rounds around the bolt holes.

Here is a pic of the serial number if you can read it. It reads 49178-01470 and S060222038.

All 16gs are double bladed.The 14b has just single blades.You for 100% sure have an evo3.
