so on my turbo setup for a 1996 prelude i installed a 16g turbo but the wastegate opens up to high for the stock engine to run right now. i have looked for springs to install but found that is not very reliable method of lowering boost. I was wondering if anyone has a 14b wastegate lying around that i could purchase, i know i should not can not post this here but i dont have enough posts to post a want to buy add. so please help me this is all i am waiting on to finish my build, then you can yell at me. thanks

First off, that isn't going to help you, switching from a 16G actuator to a 14b actuator.

What are you getting for boost?

Do you have any kind of MBC?

Yeah, this post is not going to stay around very long. The moderators are very strict about classified ads in any other section than the ones that they are suppose to be in.

Try www.mitsubishigraveyard.com They are always helpful and will probably have tons of those wastegates laying around. I don't think that the actuators are going to help you out though. They should be the same exact thing.

Almost every turbo Honda set-up that I have seen is using an external gate coming off the manifold with a 7 pound spring. Anything else has blown up pretty quick. We did one on my buddies GSR Integra and it was just crazy fast even at 7 pounds (I still think that I could have taken him :D )

i am getting about an 11 psi spike at 4500 rpm the guys at the shop are saying that at wide open throttle the car was at 15 psi which is too much for the honda engine. i thought the 14b gated at 7 to 10 psi and the 16g at 10 to 15 psi i have a MBC but it doesnt go negative boost that would be needed to control the boost cause the wastegate is too high.

Both the 14b and 16g wastegate is 9-10psi.

That's what I was thinking. I get about 11 pounds on both my 14B and my 16G without the boost controller in there.

thanks for the info i ordered a 5 lbs replacement spring for the wastegate and we are going to try and install that and see what we get out of that. my car is in a shop right now so we should be able to get it apart and back together. thanks for the info
