Hey guys, last night was the last attempt to run 10's on street tires and stock block before it gets torn down for the new setup. It was a street tire night, so there was no preparation done to the track. The first pass was the best at [email protected] mph. The 60' was a 1.788 and 2nd gear was shortshifted. There was a little more in it, but I couldnt connect to the AEM and we did not have a cage in the car. We ended the night with an 11.4@131. This was done on stock longblock, minus balance shafts and dks 272 cams, and e85. I cannot belive how much abuse this motor has been through. Over 80 dyno pulls and 30 passes at the track. We trailered the car there thinking it was going to blow, but it is still running.

I am using a garrett dual ball bearing 61mm compressor with a p trim turbine. I am also using a DNP twin scroll manifold and the smallest t/s housing available. If I remember correctly, it is a .58.

Nice Job Archie, Give me a call on monday and we will give you a hand with the aem.:thumb::thumb: Thanks Bill Showdown motorsports

Thanks for all of the kind words guys. I will talk to you soon Bill.

thanks,

Man, that is really impressive on the stock block. I plan on running mine til it blows and I was hoping for a little over 500. Good to know I can possibly take it even that much farther!

Nice setup, nice run! Does street tire mean a regular street tire or something like a BFG drag or Nitto 555 that you can put on, drive to the track and race on?

Yeah, "real" street tires. I'm running 235/45/17 dunlop sp sport's mounted on evo 8 wheels.

Thats one hell of a 60ft time for a front wheel drive on street tires. What the secret to launching it that good with so much power?

Nice nubers :thumb: One of our locals was trying to see 10's on his completely stock motor (just BC 272 cams) & street tires with pump & meth injection (FP3065). Think his best run was something like 11.01 ~132 & hit a best mph with 136. He gave in & ended up swapping to slicks for one last outing in the season. Clipped off a 10.7 with poor/zero track prep. Surprising what these motors can actually handle when pushed & tuned properly.

133 mph trap! that's haulin' the mail :) That is a high(er) second pass (based on mph only). Something seems funny though.. I'm not trying to be an ass, or insult you, but how do you cut a 1.7 60', trap 133 and only have an 11 second e.t.? Do you have boost recovery issue's? What's your 1/8th look like (e.t. and mph?). I'm just wondering...

Its fine, no worries. I have problems with my second gear and cannot shift quickly. I was out there to see what the car would trap. If you search here for pass time, you can see how slow the 1-2 shift actually is. I actually had a 1.9 60 ft there with a 11.3@131. With a good shifting trans, mid 10's is definitely possible.

Very impressive. Your tuning must be spot on. I wish E85 was available in my area.

Nice times. Very curious how you got so good 60' times on street tyres.

I pull have pulled 1.8 60's in my car all day long. Though not quite as close to the ET and trap that he is.
