A few updates on some of the development items

CTS-V 2-piece rotors.
These are now nearing their completed stages. The sample rotor is now cut out (reason for this was also to use it as a display piece)
The bell itself is now printed and waiting to come over with the rest of the development parts I have been working on, bit by bit.

After discussing with some people, it seems as if TWO options are wanted!
  • Version 1 uses the unmachined CTS-V caliper, which makes it a true bolt-on.
  • Version 2 uses a 5mm deeper bell and also the 5mm machined caliper! This is to allow more spoke clearance for people and their wheel setups. I was asked a few times if this was possible. EVERYTHING is possible of course, if the cost is paid and people want the best bolt-on setup going, we've got you.
IGNORE the connections internally! This is ONLY to connect them together. The inside does NOT reflect the actual vein design on the final product!!!

1G DSM! You got another development item done.

So after the initial V1 and V2 carrier bearing rebuild kits for the OEM housing, I then decided to mock up and work on a full BILLET version, which, as with V1 and V2 comes with a NEW bearing and bearing housing!

This makes the entire setup 100% rebuildable and maintainable for life! V1, V2 and V3 all have life spans in mind and ALL are fully rebuildable! No one offers this kind of service or dedication to the people or for your chassis!

The isolator ring will have some NVH dampening slots as standard and would come in somewhere around the 70 Shore A durometer stiffness. However! Those wanting stiffer connections can use some TPU inserts to close those slots off, creating a stiffer isolator ring!

Then you have options to remove and play around with those inserts to get the right balance, should you wish to do half and half, then that is possible. Can never have too many options.

2G DSM Tubular Front subframes are also getting ready to start back up!

Machined parts should be ready in the next month or so and can get back to producing them fully once again!
So if you wanted one before we moved to the USA then NOW is the time to get on the waiting list!

Something a little NEW for you all 👀

TRIM REFURBISHMENT! 🔥

Not long ago, we were helping a customer who had bought several of our products as part of refurbishing their car. During the conversation, the FIBA Motorsport drip rails came up, and we were then asked something unexpected…

“Can you restore OEM trim and seals as well?”

While this isn’t actually new territory for us personally — as we’ve maintained and restored trim on our own cars for many years — being asked to officially offer it as a service was something new for FIBA Motorsport!

Of course, we said YES and that we would do our best to help revive these aging OEM 2G trim seals and pieces.

What we started with were dirty, faded, grey-looking seals and foam trim that had become dry and stiff over time. Thankfully, they were still usable and flexible enough to save.

The restoration process involves:
✔️ Deep cleaning the material thoroughly
✔️ Reviving and rejuvenating the foam and rubber surfaces
✔️ Removing years of dirt and contamination
✔️ Replacing old clips with brand new ones ready for installation

The end result is trim that looks dramatically fresher, returns much closer to its original OEM black appearance, feels softer and more supple again, and is far better preserved for the future.

Now, it is important to understand that not every trim piece or seal can be perfectly restored. Some may have heavy cracking, splits, or damage from age and storage. These parts will never become “brand new” again — but preserving and restoring them now is FAR better than letting them continue to deteriorate further.

With so many OEM trim parts becoming discontinued and increasingly difficult to source, preserving what we still have is becoming more important than ever for the DSM chassis.

Once restored, proper upkeep is key. Keeping the trim coated, clean, and maintained will help it remain supple and last much longer moving forward 💙

This one is not a product but a service that is going to be offered (along side many other offerings)

We see a lot of people doing Throttle bodies (we also can do those) but no one doing these.

Power steering pumps are old, tired and more than likely have dry rotted O rings and seals inside. The cars are not getting any younger and most still use the OEM PS pump.

This is why we will be offering PS rebuild servicing for them in DSM and Evo's.

1G DSM uses a bunch of O rings for sealing and no ball bearing for the shaft. It relies on fluid for the shaft so keeping your PS fliud clean, regularly swapped out helps keep the pump in top condition!

2G DSM also has O rings but not as many. The body seal is turtle shaped and uses a proper ball bearing which helps and does not rely on fluids to lubricate.

  • Every housing gets stripped down
  • Cleaned of grease and fluids
  • Ultra sonic cleaned twice for a deep clean
  • Glass bead blasted with caps over important areas
  • Pulley also gets painted and refreshed
  • Painted in either black or clear (1G rear housing will be black as OEM)
  • Reassembly with a brand new seal kit (2G gets a new bearing NSK, KOYO, NTN)
  • all new stainless hardware all torqued to specs
Hopefully these will be able to help many people out.

Bobby, are you able to do these with a core exchange option or are you only doing this as a send in service?

Bobby, are you able to do these with a core exchange option or are you only doing this as a send in service?
Core exchange can be done yes. Ideally we will just buy the item vs by the time you refunded and all that its more expensive and lpnger then just buying it straight from you LOL

I am missing the trim and clips for 1G rear triangle glass. Can you help?
Not yet no. The clips are going to be the biggest thing going for us for the DSM community since the chassis release! They are also going to be the biggest GB going as the numbers needed to come in are quite a lot to make sure the project is worth pushing forward with.

Some more development work being done. I am no injection molder,

but samples are something we can do to make sure things are of design standards for the next stages.

While assembling an engine for a customer, I took the opportunity to check on a few projects that are planned for the future of the DSM platform and the long-term survival of these cars.

One of the areas we're currently developing is the timing system, specifically the timing tensioner arm and the hydraulic tensioner.

Both of these components are being designed from the outset with rebuildability in mind.

As DSM owners, we all understand that OEM support is only going to become more difficult as the years pass. Parts continue to be discontinued, availability decreases, and sourcing quality replacements becomes increasingly challenging. We experience the same struggles that every DSM owner does.

One advantage we have at FIBA Motorsport is a deep understanding of OEM engineering and component design. While OEM manufacturers were often restricted by production costs, regulations, and manufacturing limitations, we are not bound by those same constraints. This gives us the opportunity to produce parts that not only function like OEM, but improve upon the original design where possible.

Our goal is simple: create long-term solutions that keep DSMs on the road for decades to come.

A key part of that philosophy is serviceability. Wherever possible, our future products will be designed to be rebuilt rather than replaced. When wear eventually occurs, a simple service kit should be all that's needed to return the component to proper working condition, assuming no major damage has occurred. Regular maintenance will always be important, and every moving component deserves attention regardless of how much or how little it moves.

Timing Tensioner Arm

The new tensioner arm will be manufactured from a stronger and stiffer material than the OEM equivalent while retaining proper functionality.

Features currently planned include:

  • Replaceable bushings
  • Heat-treated base material for increased strength
  • Further hardened pin contact surfaces to improve durability and reduce wear in critical metal-to-metal contact areas

Hydraulic Tensioner

The hydraulic tensioner is being developed in multiple versions, including applications for 6-bolt DSM and EVO platforms.

Key features will include:

  • Fully rebuildable internal components
  • Easy maintenance through service kits
  • Factory-style operation with improved long-term serviceability
  • Optional refurbishment service through FIBA Motorsport
The objective is to address the growing shortage of OEM timing components and provide a dependable alternative for the future. These parts are intended to perform exactly as Mitsubishi intended, while incorporating the OEM+ philosophy that FIBA Motorsport has become known for within the DSM community.

This is a long-term project and part of a much bigger vision. We want to help ensure that DSM owners continue to have access to critical engine components long after OEM supplies disappear.

Ultimately, we'd love for FIBA Motorsport components to become part of the foundation of DSM/EVO engines worldwide, helping keep these cars reliable, roadworthy, and enjoyable for many years to come.

Oh yeah thats amazing bobby i have 2 new oems ones and just holding onto them. but this will be a well sought after item.
I got a good few spares and of course, the other versions to mock from on the design. Once they do all start to fade out more then we will swoop in and correct the situation with a great reusable product
