New Shootout 2026 scramble!

COMPLETED a tear down and complete restoration of my dream GSX. Always wanted the A87 paint code and I finally have the perfect "rust free" base to start with.

Get your pull fan on! and you can switch to a streight hose end, and eliminate that low hanging 90deg fitting.
Are you meaning on the oil cooler? I have no plans to run any type of fan on the cooler. The 90° fittings are needed to clear the bumper and the running light sits right at one of the fittings and even hit a normal 90°. Had to go banjo to clear it.

The pic I took is before I tucked everything and used hose clamps to tuck everything against the bracket and frame.

Well it has been a while since an update, buuuut that’s because nothing has really been wrong! So that’s a really good thing. Installed the fire extinguisher since rather have one than not.

Also took the car to its first event and had so much fun with other community members and having shots of the car.

Shootout pics to come

So I don’t want to over post since I connect through all my other media as well but the shootout went VERY well I think, considering it’s a new build and was on low boost. I learned sooooo much and I already can’t wait for the next one. I am going to first and foremost work on my launch and 60ft.. I really really struggled slipping the clutch and light reaction time hahaha. But that’s where pure seat time is priceless. Nothing was broken and I drove it off and on the trailer again!! Win/Win.

Also, HIGHLY recommend poker run to those that have never done it or have taken a break. It’s so much fun and love seeing the parade of mitsu cars going everywhere.

Shootout pics with the top being my favorite. Love my family crew I have found.

Unlike @bettfootball I have been driving the car a lot and local Denver area event updates coming soon.

Yes I will im really excited about it getting her ready for next year throughout the fall winter and spring. I'll definitely be road worthy by then. Always good to see you again. Maybe next year we can leave from Detroit to Ohio

Realized I have not posted in FOREVER, and since I have been working balls to the wall on the Evo, the GSX has taken a back seat. But I did finally get the water pump and balancer issue finally figured out. Was huge, huge pain to get the ATI off and threw it in the trash when I did. Had to drop the motor 6” to be able to get it pulled off with balancer puller. Put a fluidamper on it now. One problem solved. Next will be to get these race seats pulled out and some Evo seats back in. All in time. Here is a photo dump.

Dusty what hood pins are you using i need some for mine when it gets here in a few weeks.
I am using the Aerocatch pins. Only thing is they require a very large "foot print" for install. I prefer and wish I could have used the quiklatch buttons, but the angle of the carbon hood did not allow me to. If you are using the oem 1g hood, look into the quiklatch ones first.

Well, been soooo long since I have had an update. Unfortunately the Evo build is taking up all my time, energy and effort. BUT, thanks to some good dsm buddies I finally for the GSX out of storage and knocked out some things that needing wrapped up. Only a few pics but she is back up and ripping.
