Just playing around tonight. 31 amps, #12 cup, 27cfh, 1/16th er70s-2 filler, butt joint. Burned up the first half of the blade hence why it's not in the pic. I think this machine has too harsh of a arc start. And you really need a smaller filler, the 1/16th kept sticking and the blades started to move around

Damnit cory.

Perfect every time. Wish my manifold didn't look so used LOL how do you plan to get around the stud and nut in #2

More from me, the colors arent the greatest cause the masking tape catches fire keeping the purge in, but oh well.

Same as last time, sch40
85 amps. 25cfh torch and 12cfh purge

I'll wire wheel it tomorrow to show how the uniformity is

Anyone have any better ideas on how to keep thebourge insidenat the gap without having the tape adhesive melt and look all nasty like that?

Use aluminum tape Urban.

That pipe is pretty small in diameter. Is the job test for car manifolds?

It is much easier to learn to weld pipe on large diameter. That way you slowly learn to adjust your body/hand/torch around pipe.

Then move on to smaller sizes.

Anyone else need this setup? Send me a pm

Just grab a torch with valve on the handle. Much cheaper solution.

All we use in the process piping industry are the simple Maxstar 150s with 17FV torch assemblies.

The Maxstars use the gas solenoid as well, with the standard inert gas fitting on the rear and a gas-through dinse connection on the front, but the common way around that is to just use the power adapter like this:

so that gas is solely controlled by the operator. Simpler that way!

Interesting!!! Would this be a problem if I'm usinrg a WP9 torch connected to that? I guess it doesnt have a valve but my oem miller one does. Honestly i just need a dynasty

Lol :p - I will not talk you out of buying a Dynasty unit, they are worth every penny.

But that is an expensive reason to want adjustable post flow. The adapter I linked to is for the 9 & 17 torch connections - the small end is where the torch hose threads in, the large end is where the argon hose attaches, and the eye terminal is where the high current cable from the power source is bolted to. Insulate, and good to go.

The torch/combination hose for a 9 & 17 are only meant to be so long, and pig tailing them together with couplers ends up creating too much resistance and heat. So for situations where we need to welding torch 150 ft in a pipe rack or up in a ceiling, you setup how ever much argon hose and 0 gauge (or whatever is needed) from the welder & bottle to the adapter, and from there you run the 12.5 or 25 foot torch lead to the operator.

And as for a 9 torch, they make those as well with flex heads and valve controls on them, WP9F, and WP9FV.

Can't wait to show you guys my new machine. About a 1/3 of the price of the dynasty and should have all the same features when it comes out.

Post flownadjustment is one of the many other features the dynasty has that my diversion doesnt LOL

I spent that last few days reading every single post in this thread (WTF!! i know). thanks for all the pics, tips and tricks gamble and urbansmoker.
