Going through this thing more in detail tonight, trying to work the bugs out of it I noticed the yellow wire going into the top of the intake is cut and twisted in two places. Not sure exactly what this wire is used for. I planned on pulling them apart and soldering, shrink tubing it. The guy who owned it before me obviously didn't care much about this car, alternator is dead as a doornail, oil leak coming from somewhere, missing the yellow wire going to the oil sending unit, and the temp gauge doesn't work (still not sure why to be honest). Just would appreciate as much information as I can get. Thanks in advance guys!

i am assume you're refering to this yellow wire? that is the power transistor, i dont remember there being a yellow wire comming off it but if memory serves correctly there should be a white wire that runs from it to the computer and tach. may be that wire went bad and he had to replace it with something else.

Yep that's the one I'm referring to. I don't recall seeing a white wire, but this thing definitely has a yellow wire down in the connector, it's just cut in two places and he twisted them together, no tape, no solder, no wirenuts, nothing.

Strange, I'll look again when I get home. Tach works fine in the car, will do some soldering and shrink tube that sucker.

That wered. the wiring in my car looked like that too I thought it was from a comand start and alarm system that was instaled. I know the middle wire runs the tack, found out the hard way.

I just wonder why it's yellow, that's strange. Gonna try and get more work done on it tonight, swap the alternator, new O2's, radiator cap, coolant sensor (for ECU), and temp switch for the dash (hopefully we can get that going).
