the top of the dash

had one more question before i went to bed... how the hell do you take apart the top of the dash... i wanted to wrap it in suede or maybe finish it in resin for painting. the problem is i have no idea how the hell that thing will come off im talking about like from a pillar to passenger a pillar ( the bottom or elbow of that pillar) basically where that ends at least. its such a big piece idk where to start n btw i have a 2 g

sorry i have bad news for you. the dashboard is one big mother piece. quite the job to take it out. doesent just unbolt at the top.

I just took the dash out of my car yesterday and Mar10 is right, it's a complete piece and is a bit of work to take out. Alot of screws and bolts, plenty of wiring and connectors, and then you still have to work it out of the car. It would be easier to take out the windshield then the dash to access the top bar you need.

Don't know about a 2g but removing the dash in a 1g is not so bad... takes me about 45 minutes. Check the archives, I think there's a write-up on this already.

2g takes a couple of hours. Like they said lots of bolts to take off and the thing is heavy too. My heater core went out on me and I am dreading having to replace it. Who needs a heater anyway right??
