Ok so ive been having problems with my car blowing turbos by over oiling. The first ones was because of improper drainage due to a kink in the line. The second turbo i fix the kink but not enough apparently so that was over fed as well. I just got my 3rd turbo and trashed out the POS extreme psi oil return line and went with an FP blue drain hose, AND STILL this turbo is smoking like no other! i just remove my DP and yet again my 02 housing was full with oil. I am starting to think the SS oil feed like i bought is what killing them. But i am clueless on what to do... this is the oil line i have
1G DSM Eclipse 4G63 Stainless Turbo Oil Feed Line 16G | eBay

any thoughts on what could be happening?

im guessing your balance shafts are blocked off? are you running from the head? try and get a hold of a 1g oil lines, they come with a built in restrictor

No sure if my balanced shaft is blocked off, i am running it off the head and do you mean like a OEM oil feed line?

yes a 1g oem feed line will fix the problem with over oiling. take off your timing cover and see if your balance belt and tensioner are still there, if not you have no balance shafts:thumb:

What turbo/turbo's are you running?

oh yeah i still have my balance shaft, would you happen to know where i could buy an 1g oil line? and i was running a MHI evo 3 B16g, 14b, and just blew another 14b

Have you run a compression check on the vehicle. I knew a guy's who galant vr-4 kept blowing turbos and it ended up being because he had a blown motor and metal in his oil.

...went with an FP blue drain hose
I'm not a fan. They're smaller than the stock drain, and are rubber the entire way...so they have a greater chance of kinking.

The best drain for a 2G is either a factory 1G drain or a 2G drain with the upper holes slotted to fit a 14B/16G.

THIS.

The majority of failed turbos I receive did so because of oil contamination from an engine that was on it's way out. A failing engine component can stuff enough metal into a brand new turbo that it will fail in as little as 20 miles.

okay something isn't right? you have your balance shafts and and your running from the head. your turbo shouldn't be seeing that much oil pressure to kill it.

Agreed. Were these turbos used? Do you know the history on them?

Yeah i have no idea what it could be, I doubt it my motor because i've drain the oil a couple of times and found no metal shavings. I also have no compression tester to use. I mean my motor runs fine and everything, i found a 14b for a good price so ima buy the OEM 2g drain line with a OEM 1g feed line and if that doesnt work.. idk what im going to do..

I bought the 16g new, the 14b were used but there was no sign of oil burning on the hotside. The owners i've bought them from also told me that they didnt smoke... butt who knows.. =(

Hard to tell sometimes because the metal can sink to the bottom.

I wouldn't waste time with another used turbo. At least with a new one, you might have some sort of guarantee....
