would better ignition transitor cause my car to cutout?

When i go full throttle sometimes my car cuts out i can usually make about five good pulls before my car just kills. Then after it sits for about an hour its good again. Replaced coils etc no help. I would prefer not to spend 150 on a new one if that couldnt be the problem?

it sounds like a bad module to me, seems like its getting hot and cutting out til it cools off. have seen this in many cars
