So my 1g eclipse wont rev past 4k its misfiring and wants to fall on its face at 4k I dont have a boost leak. I dont know if a vacuum leak would cause this or not I just finished my swap and would love to drive my car. Please help

Is your profile up to date? (if not, please update everything to make our life much easier)

How are you tuning the 550cc injectors?

Do you have an AFPR for that 255 pump?

You say you dont have a boost leak, but may have a vac leak?! WTF

Not trying to be a dick, but we can only work with what you give us. :)

Sorry was in hurry I have 450cc injectors, stock fuel pump I had just finished my turbo swap I had a n/t 93 eclipse I did the motor swap so I have a 13g turbo, with a fmic. Like the car idles fine just a little high bout 1500k or so. but when I give it gas it misses and studders and wont go past 4k. I can ease in to the throttle or slam it and it will fall on its face at 4k. I took it for a drive and the cel came on. I forgot to hook the knock sensor up could that be it?

:ohdamn: Plug that sensor in would ya?! ROFL

Everything you listed sounds like a large boost/vac leak. Do you have a boost gauge? Whats the vac at idle.

If you haven't already, get this: http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/articles-parts-fabrication/386650-how-build-boost-leak-tester.html and run the test: http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/art...-boost-leak-test-how-boostpro-net-tester.html

Many new DSMers have no idea how important a tight plumbing track is for these (if not all) cars.

Keep us updated! :thumb:

My boost gauge reads zero but I dont think that is right. I may have hooked it up wrong I dont know. Im new to boosted cars so bare with me its the second turboed eclipse ive had LOL

On the bottom left picture of the link I posted, you will see the black plastic fuel pressure solenoid. There is a line that comes off two ends, you want the tee into the line marked with the white arrow. If it is in its factory location, its the line facing the passenger side.

Ok I dont have a fuel pressure solenoid there I checked for it like 100 times right above the break booster right?

Yes that is its stock location. If it isn't there, follow the vac line that comes off of your fuel pressure regulator, (considering you have a stock one). It is bolted to the drivers side fuel rail. It will have a vac line coming off of it straight to the fuel pressure solenoid.

Spend time here: http://www.vfaq.com./

Ok cool thanks ill keep u posted and if anything pops up ill let you guys know. This is beginning to give me a headache LOL

Just a silly question, but covering all bases here. When the turbo swap was done, you did use the turbo fuel pump, mas, ecu, and injector resistor pack, correct?

I was told I didnt have to use the turbo mas. But I did use the ecu, injectors, and injector resistor pack. I was gonna put the fuel pump in but I couldnt get to it the screws were rusted, and I forgot to wire in the knock sensor. I just made a few newbie mistakes.

Ok there is no fuel pressure solenoid the vac line to the fpr is just hanging there. So should I just do an egr delete to get rid of it?

Your FPR line needs to go to a vacuum source. Usually the small nipple on the intake - drivers side, facing forward, somewhere around the #1 and #2 injector on the INTAKE manifold. Mine is hard to see because it has the injector wire loom covering it but it should be there. The FPR needs vacuum/boost to regulate correctly.

And CDC1221 shouldn't he be using the turbo mas/maf??? I think so, but someone else shoud make sure that is correct. Could be the problem there (and a few others).

Do you have access to a turbo maf? I think you will find that will help out a lot. If not search the classifieds and you should be able to pick up a 1g maf from a turbo car pretty cheap.

Not saying any body is wrong but u would think that the non turbo mas would work cause the turbo ecu is is telling it what to do. Thats what I thought. And also would an egr delete help me out with my vac lines

It would get rid of some "extra" lines that really aren't needed unless you are in a smog check state. I have a STM blockoff plate where mine used to be. Probably the ONLY thing the PO did right...... The maf is going to see more airflow than a non-turbo maf is the only reason I said something and even I wasn't sure but thought it would be the right thing if I were doing it to just go ahead and use the whole turbo setup including the turbo maf/mas.

Yea I live in ohio so we dont have a smog test here. But yea I just wasnt sure bout the maf and really dont have money to get one. the guy that had the car b4 me didnt do anything right and I picked this car up for 2000 and it blew up on me so now I got like 4500 into this car and its still not running right. I looked in the classifieds here and didnt find anything. I do have a 2g mas from my old turbo eclipse but dont really know how to use it. And I have nothing to tune it in. I have to kids so moneys tight.

And just to clarify, the ECU is LOOKING at the maf not telling it what to do so it is sending info to the rest of the setup partially based on its maf reading. All the sensors on the car tell the computer what to do given certain values, not visa versa. If you don't have any tuning ability then I would use all stock turbo equipment....I have two kids too and am a single dad, I know all about the money issue, its pretty thin around my house too. I didn't know if a non turbo car had the same plug for the maf as a turbo car but evidently it does if you were able to plug yours in. Does this make a little sense on the computer reading values from your sensors (and maf is one)? A non turbo maf would never see the volume of air that a turbo maf would see so MAYBE that is one of the deals on your car.
