Will you be able to tell the difference? 2ga eclipse to 2gb Talon

Hey guys, since the rust has taken my 97 Talon I've set out and found a shell. I found a 95 gs. It has no rust and is clean. So of course I want my 2gb Talon back! Since I have all of the parts I am going to do the conversion. I plan on also doing the black top. So if I put my talons front and rear bumper on, the 2gb spoiler, headlights, side strakes, "16v DOHC" stickers,and driver side airbag. So if I put all of that on a 2Ga eclipse and then new paint, with the black top. Will there be anyway to tell it is still an eclipse? Will an expert DSM'er be able to pick me apart and find the true identity, just from looking at the exterior?

If everything is done correctly, no they won't be able to tell from the outside. Swapping the interior stuff such as floor mats, and steering wheel would take it a step further to.

Only way they'd be able to tell is by looking up your vin .

I see you have a 97 talon. I can't really tell by your profile pic, but on some 1997 Talon models the rear quarter windows are different.

Well I guess this is where the expert DSM'er comes in hah! Even if it is different, the people around here do not know the difference between an Eclipse and a Talon, so the rear quarter window should be fine! Thank you for informing me of this though, I honestly have never heard of that!

Don't forget bout the wing. The eclipse GS has the low rise spoiler and your talon has the thumbnail in the back. Now if it's a talon ESI then the wing would be the same obviously. You would have to pull the 3 piece wing off the 95 and fill the holes then have to reinstall the talon thumbnail..

I have a 97 talon, so I have the high rise wing, not the thumbnail. I plan on swapping hatches to eliminate drilling more holes

Another thing that can give it away and is kind of tricky is getting the Talon taillights to work correctly in an Eclipse. From what I understand the taillight harness and dash harness are both different. There are a couple of guys on Purity that have been working on the Eclipse to Talon swap and had trouble with getting the tails to illuminate correctly. It has to do with the signal lights being seperate in the Talon and them sharing a bulb with the brake lights in the Eclipse.

Yes, I have also heard that the wiring can put up quite a fight unfortunately, hopefully tuners will be able to guide me through it though! Just picked up a 95 eclipse today!
