will a hx35/40 hit the water pipe on a 2.4l???

I know the block is slightly higher on the 2.4l engines so i was wondering if someone knows first hand if it will hit the water pipe or clear. Im looking into turbos as i am purchasing very soon and am highly interested in holsets. Any info will help!

considering that a 2.4 will use the same water pump as a 2.0, it would be safe to assume the water pipe will be located the same as well. With a bit taller deck height the turbo will clear even more as they do not require any modification of the water pipe on a 2.0.

Water pipes need to be dented on a 2.0 for the turbo to clear. That's why I'm wondering if the same would need to be done with the stroker.

If it does hit, it wont be hard to modify it.

I know when I installed the hx-40 with the FP manifold, I just added a spacer instead of denting my coolant pipe.

I never had stock fans while doing the swap.

I assumed my engine would get hotter with more hp I would receive, so I upgraded my radiator and both puller fans at the same time.

I didnt have to dent my water pipe with the hx-35. Stock fans will require alot of modification to retain.

Are we to assume that you're talking about the BEP bolt-on Holset turbine housing being used with a stock exhaust manifold?

Obviously, the clearance is going to depend on what position the exhaust manifold you use places the turbine housing your using.

You can find a way to fit pretty much any turbo you want into a DSM if you make your own exhaust manifold, so be specific.

I am running a HX-40 with a BEP bolt on housing on a DNP mani. No clearance issues with the water pipe at all on mine. The stock fans will have to go. 1/2 radiator or 2 slim fans on full size radiator will work.
