Well, Apexi themselves list the Neo as being able to tune up to 650cc injectors...I'm not sure why the vendor would list injectors that are too big for the Neo to tune as an available package deal....You'd be bummed if you tried to tune 850's with just the Neo.

This is also true. I actually have no experience with the safc, I hear it isn't much good for any injectors over 650cc's!
Something you should really look into.

Edit:
Running an hx35 with a 2.3l stroker, you will need ATLEAST 850's.
Running an hx40 with the stroker, you should run higher than 850's.
I recommend going with FIC 1050's for pump.
I highly suggest looking into the neo or just look into getting v3 lite.
It's a bit more but a LOT better than that piggy back system.
OR
Looking into caddy mod.

if your going to tune with that a holset turbo is not for you get a 16g and some 650cc injectors or get dsmlink and get a holset with aleast some 1000cc injectors :rocks:

ok thanks for the input i figured a package is cheaper, but if you say 850's+ then ill run dsm link and get some 1000cc.

Any input on RC engineering injectors as well?

Agreed with him!

Also if you want to run that holset, what boost you plan to run, that plays a huge role?
And im not sure a straight drop in wally 255 will hold up, I recommend a rewire done to the pump also.

Edit:
I just notice it was a Walbro 255 HP. So.. Better but to be safe IMO, I personally would still do a rewire.

And I have no knowlegde on anything bigger than the RC550's.

Regardless of which turbo you are running, you need to think in terms of how much airflow you expect to be pushing through your motor and which type of fuel you will be running. These two things will determine how much fuel is required. (You can also get a rough estimate of fuel requirements by knowing your target HP and using a relatively simple formula...but it's less precise).

Once you know how much fuel you need for a given amount of airflow, you can choose the right fuel system components to get you there. Besides the injector size, you also need to consider the pump (which has an indirect impact on the injector sizing), size of the feed and return lines, filter capacity, etc.

With something like ECMLink running the ECU, you can go as big as you want and not worry about it, and you'll have room to grow in the future.

@ Calan

Sry i was typing the last post b4 your posted appeared :) Def good advice and i appreciate it.

I'm gonna do more research before i purchase any injectors. I've never heard of ECMlink... i'm a bit newish to building dsm's.

on a hx40, 32psi, 2.0, bc280 cams, ported head, and 100% meth injection with a m10 nozzle i was seeing around 80% idc at 8.5k with percision 880cc injectors. i would suggest 950-1000cc injectors if you plan on running the 40 FORSURE...

I would run PTE 1200s. They have seen low 10s on a friends car on E85. I wouldn't run anything else mentioned just for that fact alone.

I'll second that, but add some info to my recommendation. I went with 850's just because I will never see E85, and this website and several like it recommended that size for my goals.

However, if I had to do it all over again, since I have Link V3, I'd get 1200's or 1250's and call it a day, I think with link and a good tune, those are the perfect injectors. Fully tuneable by link from stock hp on pump gas, up to 500+ hp on E85. They will work on 99% of peoples builds.

Does running e85 require a different tuning setup?

Yes...sort of. It requires a different tune (set of parameters), but not different tuning software... if you get the right stuff to begin with.

If you go big enough on the fuel system and get the right tuning software (I'm a big ECMLink fan myself), nothing has to change when you switch to E85 except for adjusting the tune to deliver more fuel, and to optimize the AFR and timing for E85.

How big injectors can you go before having to change the resister box ? And also the fuel rail ? I wanted to get some 1250cc but I'm not sure if I'll have to replace the resister box like a friend said. I got a fully built 6 bolt, HX-40 and stock injectors for right now. Thanks

You remove the resistor box if you go with high impedance injectors, otherwise you leave it alone. Fuel rail is fine for a lot of power (not sure on an actual number). I would say 1250's and something good to tune with (not a piggy back).
