Hi,

i have a question and i would like to have your help. I have read allmost all Holset threads but couldnt find the info i wanted for the displacement i am going to have.

I can get a HX35/40 with a billet 60/85 (7 Blade) compressor impeller and i was wondering what is the max boost i can run with it without having too much backpressure on a 2.5liter engine with 8,5:1 compression.

You will probably need to run the stock 12cm^2 hx35 turbine housing or a BEP .70 a/r turbine housing. Both hae a t3 bolt pattern. The stock 12cm^2 housing will have the twinscroll divider that will need to be radiused. Or you can contact PTE to get a t3 gasket that has a radiused portion for the divider. The .70 a/r housing is a little smaller in the critical area from my inspection, but not by much. Spool up with either will be about the same.

What is your power goal with this car?
 
I wanted to use the HX40 with this billet impeller but i came on this hybrid and i started to give it a thought.

I was aiming at the beginning at 550-600 crank HP (over here in Europe i think the dyno numbers on Maha and Bosch dynos are more conservative). Now i started to think that the quicker spool of the hybrid and the stroked engine would also be nice. Thing is i know the compressor can flow easily that much but i dont know if the turbine side is up for the job.
 
It has done those numbers before as mph/weight calculations. 132mph with a full weight car and a hx35/40 hybrid using the original hx35 12cm^2 housing with an open header (non-divided). That's a good 550wheel horsepower. Look up member TimG.
