Do any of you guys have this turbo? How do you like it and what are your rough hp numbers? I would like to get close/around 400awhp. Thoughts or concerns I should have? I found this on CL, not far from me.

I have a friend that's thinking about running the setup, but not in a bolt on housing. He's using a twin scroll t3. The link to the setup your looking at won't fully utilize the size of the compressor, however even with that bolt on housing you should be able to get 400whp assuming you have all the other supporting mods and use good fuel. I'm thinking like 93 octane. Not sure what Wyoming has for fuel but I heard some places where labeling 90 octane as premium and served gas as low as 83-85 octane. If you have access to e85 that number will be hit easily.

If your using lower octane it is always easier to hit good numbers with a bigger turbine and housing AR. So a cheap hx40 58mm 8 blade would be good for your goals.

A simple search would yield you all the Holset info you will need, its arguable that this is the best website to find Holset info, personally I think it is.

Read up buddy:

I think we might have some e85 around but don't quote me on that. Right now just planning on running 91 octane (our highest). basically I'm going with DKS 272 cams, 255 wally, 750 FIC injectors as of now. But things can change. Should I go with bigger injectors?

I actually did read through that when inquiring about this CL find. Good info no doubt, but actually getting some testimony from a user helps a lil ya know? But thanks again anyway. That thread does have loads of info and you should probably sit down with some food and drink before diving into that reading.

Since we dont know what you are tuning with nor if you have the correct set up to run larger injectors or your profile filled out its hard to answer accurately

Rule of thumb, with e85, go big or go home. 1000cc is a good starting point. Plus with most of the tuning options 1000cc will be easy to run.

Fair enough, sorry about the profile, I havent changed anything till I get everything installed. As for tuning I'm still on the fence, ECMLink or something like Jackal/Werewolf. But that is another thread.

That setup is using a turbine wheel / housing that is proven to be a restriction with a HX35 compressor, the HX40 compressor does nothing but add lag to this setup with zero additional airflow benefit.

Thank you, exactly what I need to hear. Better off just getting a straight up hx35 or hx 40. I guess I will continue to search for turbo.
