what all is needed to put a holset turbo in a 1g, i know you will need engine managment, injectors, cams..ect. im looking for specifics like mani, mods needing done. is there a kit available?

thanks merry xmas:hellyeah:

Yes you will need some form of engine management, most likely ecmlink because the safc wont accurately control anything more than 650s, and you'll need more than that. Bigger injectors and pump. As far as set-up, you can either buy a bep bolt on housing than will mate with your dsm flanged manifold which is the most commom; or you could keep the stock holset divided t3 twin scroll housing and mate it with a dsm t3 manifold. This will require a custom o2 housing + downpipe whereas the bolt on housing will allow you to use the stock style o2 housing + downpipe. However I dont think a stock 2g manifold will allow clearance between the block for the compressor housing so you more than likely will need an aftermarket manifold that places the turbo further away from the block anyhow.

thanks for the reply. so as far as getting it on the car there really is not that much to it. more simple then i had thought any way. tuning im sure is more time consuming then anything else as usual

Full maintence check up then get ECMLink or equivalent, at least 1 255lph fuel pump, AFPR, at least 1050cc injectors (bigger the better), boost gauge that goes to at least 30 psi, wide band (most prefer the LC-1), clutch upgraded for the increase of power. The 2g exhaust manifold will fit with the BEP housing but you'll need to dent the water pipe. A lot of people run the FP manifold using the mitsu BEP housing. New wastegate setup unless you get the BEP housing with internal gate. The t3 manifold will need a new downpipe made that utilizes a v-band flange off of the turbine outlet. You'll need to check your oil pressure to see if you need a restrictor or not. Most seem to be fine but Holset states to not use an oil drain line smaller than -12AN so that will need to be custom made if you choose to go that route. There is other stuff you'll need to know as well.

Search Holset and read up on the multitude of threads. There is a lot you need to do before you even put that turbo on. I've had mine sitting in my garage for months now while waiting to get the rest of the stuff I need to run mine.

i understand i need to research the tubo and have been readin threw the many pages on the Holset threads. Im no where near even buying one tell i get my tuning down i was just curiouse of what parts a check list you may say are needed to get a Holset on a 1g.

thanks for the reply :)

As said before research, research, research. One thing you might want to considered if your going to go to a hx35/40 is maybe looking into e85 or meth injection with pump gas to get the most out of your set up.
