Why 260hp on 272 with 9:1 comp

Not too shabby power for pump gas and low timing.

Are you kidding?! I made the 297whp under my avatar on a 20g on a 10lb wg spring, exhaust, wally 255 and bc272s.. No tune(stock ecu), stock injectors on shit CA 91oct. First pull was 3rd gear and fuel cut bad, second pull 4th gear was clean.

OP you need to figure out your phantom knock issue. Thats killing you.

I feel like there's too much missing information to give an educated response other than guesses. Air/fuel ratio, knock, wot, tuning, etc. But, not knowing most of that, 260 whp with just 91 octane doesn't seen so bad considering how many unknown variables could be just slightly off, effecting peak performance. Sure, some have gone a few more hp on similar setups, but tuning is key. My car made 280 hp on the first pull, then with some proper tuning made 404. All in the tuning. Complete disclosure of all tuning data would certainly help.

You're right, anything's debatable even that post on a Evo forum you linked to. Without logs who's to say something else hadn't been changed?
:dsm:

Ill just say this, airflow is better without the mas. Airflow improves without honeycombs. Or at least when I removed them I went from -2x% global mas airflow to -1.8 just removing them only to keep fuel trims in check.
Sd is indeed not needed here. A log is. boost is low thats why the low power. But many other things could be off. A/fr too rich, bad timing curve, high iat's. Etc etc.

Please tell me you didn't actually pay money for this "tune."

And why are you not logging your wideband? This log is practically worthless...

I will contact the guy and tell him to log the wideband, I do know he wire it up to the ecu, But I don't know why it is not showing,.
I will make an appointment with him and tell him to log the wideband.

Sorry for the worthless Log,.

I will report back onec I get the Wideband Loged.

Looks like you are running on stock boost by looking at the log, 10 psi.
And also, your timing doesnt seems right.... I would go To TedSpec if i were you,

Seeing your in CA I HIGHLY RECOMMEND you take your car to tedspec or have him help you with your tune, he does amazing work and has answered all my questions when I called.

The tuner disabled your knock sensor so that log shows no knock and, as everyone else already mentioned, we can't tell much without a logged WB.

BoostEst isn't an accurate boost measurement but your airflow readings don't seem inflated, 28 lbs/min and you did 260 whp on the dyno, so I'd say that your BoostEst is pretty close to the amount of boost you're actually running. Like Yukiz mentioned, it looks like you were running stock boost pressure somewhere around 12psi.

Like stated above, i cant tell much from your log other than your maf signal seems calibrated pretty well atleast. Its showing 28lbs/min and you wheeled 260. Thats dead nuts on. More boost, better fuel, timing and youll get more power.
The wideband was the first thing that jumped out though: Its missing!! yikes LOL

Ok i will try to turn the knock sensor and maybe on thursday i will retune and see what happen.
I will take all those suggestions.

Ok so all these time is stock boost

I love how people were already throwing out causes such as the turbo before a log was even posted... For all we know he couldve had 50 counts of knock, -10 degrees of timing, at 20% throttle and 5 psi boost. Seriously guys...

Here's a question I've got to ask...why is it that every single Turbo Lab equipped DSM always makes disappointing numbers?

Hmm.

I still have yet to hit the dyno with mine, but Im more than happy with my TL TD05 20g so far. I did trap 110 last weekend with 22psi, which equates to 339 hp since it weighs 3300, flows in the 39 lb/min area, and once I get a real WG spring it'll be much better :)

The dude asked what he was tuning... Why the scarcasum?

I'm pretty sure he was referring to WHO did the tuning, tedspec or fftec, which are the nicknames for some "famous" norcal tuners?

I'm curious as to why the OP thought his boost was at 20 when it was apparently around 12psi...

Yes weird i was told that i was tunning 20, 18, but i was not told i was doing that low maybe he did that to be safe cause the knock was off. I wil try to go tomorrow for an retune
