Who knows what this wire is for?

So in an attempt to fix a hacked harness, I have come across this wire that I do not know if it is important or if it belongs to cruise, a/c... etc. All of the other wires for cruise and some a/c have been clipped and neatly folded over, but this wire looks as if it got stretched or pulled. I do not think it is a necessary wire, but I want to be sure before I cut/insulate it and wrap it up with the harness. It's a shot in the dark, but I'm hoping someone will recognize it. Green wire, yellow stripe.

Put a test light to it and start hiting swtiches, (like A/C, wipers, cruise control, wipers) and see if the test light lights up. also you could check too see if its a ground of some sort.
Also where in the harness is the wire located? like near the fuse box? or farther down the line?
As well as if the harness is unwrapped you could trace the wire down and see where it leads too.

It may be a little less of a shot in the dark if you gave us a general location of where the wire is located along the harness or in the engine bay, and what car it is.

Offhand and assuming this is a 1G (as your profile indicates) engine control harness, there's a green w/ yellow wire for the A/C dual pressure switch connector, pin 7 of the turbo MAF, and the engine coolant temperature switch (for the A/C, on the thermostat housing).

Alright, thanks guys. Yes, it is a 92 6 bolt. Where the wire is seperated is near the ISC connector, but can't seem to find a corresponding end. So I figured I was ok and that it was done before I removed the engine. Just want to be sure before I wrap it up and find out later that I needed it. Don't have power at the moment, redoing a battery relocate too. But as soon as I do, I can try throwing on a test light and turning stuff on.
Thanks 19Eclipse90, that helps a lot. My coolant wire is still intact, so that eliminates that wire.

Pull the plugs off the ecu and do a continuity test from the pulled wire to the ecu plug. it should narrow it down some. sorry i didn't think of it earlier man.
