Hey guys, just picked up a white 95 Talon TSi this week. I love the look of smoked taillights and was wondering if anybody with a white 2g talon could show me some pics of what it could look like. Thanks in advance!

Someone on here has an avatar pic of some blacked out tails. I cant remember his name. I will do a but of searching

DO IT, clean with alcohol, spray on 3 coats of niteshade. it's a dark red in the sun, BLACK look at night.

don't u wish your ass was tinted like mine.......LOL

dude that looks SO GOOD! haha I'm most definitely doing this when I get home tomorrow. I picked up some VHT Niteshade. Is that the stuff you used?

yup, that's it.

clean then, wipe them down with alcohol, mask off the license plate area, and go to town.

first coat will look kinda shitty, all patchy and what not. second will be a little better, then the third will be even and look nice. don't go heavy on the coats. you will see it goes on quick. 3 layers is what i used. more makes it darker. mine are about perfect.

reverse lights are EASY to mask off. there is a clear groove u can take a knife too mask them off.

since it's COLD out, make sure the parts and paint is heated up to 50-70 degrees. u dont wanna mess this up. try a heated garage and let the parts warm up

Thanks for the advice. I was thinking about pulling them off and bringing them inside to do. Does that middle section come out?

Just be careful with the fuzz, most of 'em will give you a ticket for that. I like the look but really don't want the attention, they already look at us over their glasses you know.

As long as long as your Third brake light (on the rear spoiler) is woirking and is not tinted you will always beat that ticket. So do not tint that spoiler brake light! Thats your safety net.

I helped my little bro beat that one before. My arguement was that we did not hinder the safety of the car because you could dee thruugh the tint and plus the spoiler light was not tinted and was in perfect working order for all to see we were braking.:thumb:

At least in Colorado the law says to the extent that " A" brake light must be fully visible to not be considered a defective and unsafe vehicle.

Not to say this mod won't get you pulled over. But you can beat that ticket though, if that third light works.

Thanks for the info guys! Definitely changing my mind about doing the 3rd brake light cover. I never really thought about getting pulled over, but it doesn't take much to attract cops here in Columbus.

Smoked.. Not too dark, not too light

Was wondering the same thing. :thumb:

Its just right.;)

Thank you. I didnt want the completely "MURDERED OUT" look.. Just a tint to em. Plus I'd like people to see my lights. Ive got friends that have done theirs and you cant see at night! Let alone day. Mine are visible all day. Just the way I like em ;)
