im looking for a wideband o2 sensor kit to go with my tunning package im putting together but ive been hearing things so i wanted to know what you all though about the following kits
i want actual facts and experience based comments not what you think. i hope to make this into a thread others can use in the future

also feel free to add any kits i may have missed.
the list is as followed:

AEM wideband 6 in 1 kit

PLX SM AFR w/PLX DM5 Gauge.

Innovate LC-1 Wideband Controller & Blue DB Gauge

I used the AEM in many cars including my old dsm. I gotta say i liked it and it was very accurate. The PLX and Lc-1 are also pretty good widebands. Take a look at the opinions and how much you want to spend, their pretty much all close in price.

I'm leaning towards the lc-1
it just seems stable, ready, and i found them for 180 :D
the software is just a plus and
the good thing is I'm not alone for the tuning i plan on having TSImage help me do the install and basic tuning and from there I'm going to KBR performance in Vallejo to finish it off.
i like the work they have done and for the price its a steal.:rocks:

i use the AEM uego w/ my dsm link v2 and i works fantastic. The innovative wideband has a bit less latency but for someone who sounds like they are getting to the point of needing a wideband it would be best to use something that youre going to be comfortable with. Something that you understand would be best. Do your research and pick up something that would suite you best. I'm sure everyone in here would agree that its better to buy something that you would benifit from rather than other peoples opinions. Good Luck Man.....

thanx for been help full:thumb: and i see what your saying but ....

What does that mean?

I think he was asking for our opinions, that's why he posted a new thread on the same topic that's been covered plenty of times.

PROJECTGS is right i am looking for opinions based on experience to make up my mind cause this is not a new topic i just want an up to date opinion.:thumb:

It works, and for some it works better than for others. The problem is that the analog ouptut on the AEM unit is finicky and subject to voltage drop on its way to the ecu. If you are going to use one this way make sure that you use a fairly large gauge wire, Western Union splices, soldered connections, and a short run. If dsmlink offered a serial input for the UEGO it wouldn't be a problem at all.

I should be able to comment on Innovate's customer service within the next week.
I just had to mail my LC-1 controller back to Innovate. Worked great for 2months and then stopped working suddendly. Test light doesn't light up and sensor doesn't heat up at all. They emailed me a claim# very promptly.
Can't wait to see what they say.

I would say Innovates customer service is great! They replaced my LC-1 unit twice without any questions (one time sending me a new one before I returned the old one). They also worked through an issue with their LM Programmer software with me and ended up sending me a previous version that was known to work. I dealt with one guy all of the time (might be the only guy doing tech support?).

Felipe seems to be the guy i talk to everytime i've called. Glad to hear it's not terribly uncommon for the unit to go bad.

not to steal the thread or anything, however, people keep mentioning logging software. well with DSMlink/ECMlink V2, some widebands can be logged inside the program, which in my opinion, is the ideal situation. what tuning program are you planning on using in your setup? this information could greatly sway my opinion on which wideband is superior to another... unless i missed the post somewhere in this thread, in that case, my apology.

You have a 95', so you might have an eprom ecu. In that case, you can look into burning your own eproms using Tunerpro(free). Socketed ecu($60), chip burner($30-100) and definition files from DsmEcuYahoo group and you're on your way to full timing/fuel control for less than the cost of an SAFC. It will take some knowledge of tuning base as well but so does using any other device. A logger such as Evoscan will be needed, too.

im getting the safc for 120 so its not bad... later i will get a chip for 650s but for now i dont trust my self with burning my own program.:tease:

Can I get a PM on where you found this deal?

I've been quoted $210 with shipping from a well known vendor who recently made an announcement on the site about wideband deals. I know I've seen a better deal than that somewhere but can't remember where.

I'm going LC-1 for sure.

Dunno if anyone cares but I had the Autometer unit. I can't compare the accuracy to the other units being that I haven't exactly been able to do a test. But I'll say the install was easy enough and uses the same sensor as the AEM. I've found the sensor on Ebay as well for pretty cheap. Liked the dimming feature cause at night it was pretty bright. Had a few cool features on it but can't remember if it could be hooked up for logging, etc. If I remember right, it was just the sensor and then the wiring for the lighting. No software or anything but then again, all I had for tuning was a GM Translator. Helped TREMENDOUSLY to get it tuned right for the track. Reminds me of the AEM unit but not sure how close in comparison they really are. Anyway, that's just my 2 cents for anyone who cares.
