Which/What gauges should I get? [Merged 12-6]

I have seen gauges from 9 bucks to 300 bucks. Good lord what the hell? Can anyone direct me towards a decent set of gauges, at a good price? Thanks a mill,

chris

Actually, I have a magazine layin around here and it showed a car with guages that were just stuck to the glass of the windshield. They looked really F'ing clean, if any body knows what I'm talkin about please let me know who makes em. Thanks again,

chris

The $50 autometer's seem pretty realiable, look great, and 50 bucks isn't all that expensive (minus EGT, etc). I don't see any sense in speding 100+ dollars on the Greddy, Blitz, or the like gauges. They all the do same exact thing.

Yeah, I think the autometer's get the job done okay, but they (the cheaper one's) don't have peak/hold features. If your looking for aethestics, I would go with something like blitz or greddy (I personally have the black faced greddy peak hold's and love them). I was fortunate to find mine on ebay for 300 bucks shipped (both egt and boost). Still kind of pricey, but well worth it imo. I think in general, most of the the gauges out on the market work just fine, its just a matter of personal opinion.

I got Apexi boost, egt and oil pressure guages. I got them at a pretty good deal at the garage sale you just got to shop around and find the best price sometimes.

Glass mount gauges do not exist. You are thinking of a HUD (heads up display) which projects onto the windshield.
They mount on the glass right next to the pillar. The wires run through the pillar.

if u can afford em.. buy some brand name gauges.. omori, greddy, defi, apexi, etc.. but if ur on a budget.. and want something that works and have been used by many for years.. autometer..

What, Autometer isn't a "brand name"?

I run Autometer Phantom EGT and Boost.

I don't see the sense in paying for "name" when you buy gauges...you want something accurate and reliable...which is exactly what you pointed out when you mentioned Autometer.

The way I see it, $50 for a reliable guage that will read the same as a $150 gauge means I have $100 to spend on other upgrades...something to increase performance.

autometer is def one of the best gauges out there as everyone else said they are afforable gauges. which leaves room for any other upgrades. but if anything if u were to purchase a greddy egt i would say go to a tre prope they provide the fastest most reliable numbers out there. :dsm:

MAYBE A NEWBIE WOULD WANT THE OPINION OF A PERSON WHOS HIGHER UP IN THE KNOWLEDGE ON A DSMER. I KNOW WHEN I FIRST STARTED I TOOK ALL THE OPINIONS I COULD GET KNOW WHAT I MEAN

Sorry, just trying to "remind" us all of what this section is for...no need to caps lock a disgruntled reply.

Because some people don't want to run mechanical boost/oil pressure lines up to their gauges?
