what are the three important gauge should i get? i already got triple pillar gauge(52mm gauges and can be enlarged to hold 60mm gauges) i already have boost gauge and i wanna get a gauge that i dont know what that gauge is but i think it measures gas and air mixture. whats the 3rd important gauge should i get:confused:

took you a while huh... :D well I like them, no pillar mounting shit...

well here is the pic

hrrrrr i really like :D :thumb:

I have Greddy peak and holds(boost, egt, water temp) they are silver with orange backlight which matches the factory gauges perfectly. I've had bad experences with autometer, my boost gauge liked to stick at zero and the air/fuel didn't work at all brand new out of the box. The greddys are more responsive anyway.

even you saying 2, for MT i would say Boost/Egt/ A/f, and for Auto, Boost / Trans/ Oil. as for the egt, i might get one later when the heavy mods come about.

i see all kinds of people suggesting an EGT gauge (pyrometer), but really what good is it? sure if you have the extra time and money to install it with then it is great. but by far the most two important would be a boost gauge and air/fuel ratio. both are very important on a turbo'd car, however on a N/T i would suggest a air/fuel and and EGT gauge. just my opinions though.

A/F is useless. There are many threads about it so I wint go into it. I would say boost and fuel pressure.

what is this guy talking about?? air/fuel being useless? if you are tuning a car do you want it to run rich or lean? do you want to have an engine to drive after a week of driving it on either extreme? i think monitoring how your engine is running would be more important than measuring fuel pressure??

You might want to do a search on A/F gauges as they are inaccurate as hell unless you have a wideband o2 setup. Therefore making them useless.

BOOST and EGT - unless you can afford a wideband setup to hook up the A/F gauge. :thumb:

Ahhhhh, ignorance is bliss.

The stock O2 sensor is a narrow band sensor and is only accurate at stoich (14.7:1) after that it is very inaccurate and is never used to tune with. The O2 sensor that you may be thinking of is a wideband and is not used for everyday driving just a short tune setion. If you are tunnign your car from the stock O2 and any gauge it is hooked to then i have a feeling that my motor will last alot longer than yours. Like dsmayhem said search and you will fidn all you need to know.

As far as the EGT goes it is also a good idea to have on a turbo car if you use it to monitor and not tune. It is very widely know that the probe are slow to react and unless you get the Greddy gauge it will inaccurate and its extermes. The EGT will let you know if something went wrong and perhaps save you in the end from a huge failure. If an injector dies and that cylinder goes lean and EGT will show that to you failry quickly so you have a chance to baby the car before more damage is done.

As fas as tunning goes I would only tune with a logger and wideband and not some gauge, that is what this guy is talking about.
