Hey guys,

I currently have a Holset Big H1C (divided t3) that I was intending to use on my setup, but I've recently been given the possibility of picking up an Innovative (ITS) 67mm turbo, with a .96a/r turbine housing, it is non-BB.

I was wondering if anyone had any idea what kind of spool characteristics the Innovative turbo might have (searched several times, but no good information out there).

My engine setup is: JE 8.5:1 pistons, eagle rods, and web 272's. (There is much more involved but that is a basic rundown, for a little background.)

I will be running a cyclone intake manifold and a divided t4 turbo manifold. I also have a full fuel setup, so please no smart remarks regarding maintenance, go with a 16g, etc. I am by no means a newbie here, and was hoping some people could give some legitimate advice.

Thanks!

the ITS turbo is going to spool really slow.if your car is going to be just a race car it should be fine but it will be kinda laggy on the street.

id say stick with the holset. both are non bb, plus you already have the H1C.

I would be very cautious with the ITS turbo as ITS really isnt around anymore, a couple guys left and came up with COMP turbo which are very good, they make a triple, yes triple ball bearing turbo.

That turbo in a .96AR T4 even if it were a true twin scroll with a twin scroll manifold would still be sluggish on a 2.0 at 8.5:1, now if it were 10:1 it would be a tad different. an .82 AR would be a little better.

The H1c, well im not a huge fan of them i think there are far better choices, I would look at the PTE 6765, 6768, or the BEP S362, S366

What are your power goals?

I'm getting the ITS for no real cost to me, basically trading the Holset for it.

It is by no means a "street" as in DD vehicle. The car is built to be a race car. The turbo is a divided t4 and I do have a twin-scroll manifold.

It is also an automatic with a 4500 stall. The owner of the turbo sees full boost around 4800 rpms on a 1.8L vtec honda engine. However I do not have vtec and don't really want to get the turbo if it's not going to build boost before 5000rpms.

I know about COMP turbos and they will rebuild the ITS if anything were to happen, as they are compromised of the two main guys from ITS. The triple BB turbo is reeeeeeediculous though.
