Im just curious because i have a type RS but i keep hearing that i should change it..

Help me out..Thanx

Both bov's are good. I myself have the type-s but that's cause my car came with it. I have heard the type-rs has a slightly stiffer spring than the type-s but its not much of a difference. Both are good in the end.

i have a type s and it's recirculated, works fine for me, i'm thinking of going to a 1g crushed bov or just something else... dont want the purple under the hood LOL.

Yes mine is recirculated. It sounds pretty good recirculated, especially if you have hard upper intercooler pipes and an intake.

so you'd recommend it then?

Yes i recommend you recirculate it, it will save you future headaches. Plus when you upgrade to hard pipes and intake, and up the boost just a bit, it can be almost as loud as vented.

I've got an RS recirculated. It works great i've had no problems whatsever with it. Both of the BOVs are good. Just make sure you recirculate. And it sounds great still trust me :D

Someone correct me if i'm wrong but your MAF is tuned to were your BOV should be recirculated.

The MAF isin't 'tuned' to recirculate the BOV, the air is measured before the turbo so when you vent the BOV you are loosing air that has already been measured and fuel is being injected for that air. When you vent that air the fuel still goes to the motor and you run rich.

Which is Better? GReddy Type-RS or Type S?
Neither.

Any $200+ valve that mimicks the operation of the stock 1G blow off valve yet isn't as reliable can't be worth it's price tag. Unless you're running 30+psi, or you're running a turbo that pushes so much airflow that you need a valve with a large piston that dumps quickly (Tial), then I see no reason to ever need to choose anything but a 1G BOV.

speaking of which how much boost do 1g BOV's hold?
Unmodded, 18-20psi...maybe a little more.

Crushed, 22-25ish.

Dodge Garage Modded, 30psi+?

I have a buddy that ran a Dodge Garage Modded Crushed 1G BOV to 34psi with no leaks. I'm sure impressed with what they can do!

i recomend a tial Q. or a 1g bov. the tial q is the best performing bov on the market but it require supporting mods as it vents to the atmosphere. 1g far excedes the 2g blow of valve and with hard piping does make a nice noise. not ricey and its definetly audible.

good luck
